#1 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Axl Rose playing drums with Matt! » 731 weeks ago
I would put Bucket over Zak anyday for skill, variation and artistic awesomeness. The works.
Listen to Bucket's Captain Eyo's Voyage - not a shred in sight, simply amazing.

Seeing Axl having fun in soundcheck back then is cool. I would love to see more of that.
The world UYI tour, while nearly killing a couple of them, must have been an awesome experience to do back then when still young, what a ride!
Good video.

My only identity is as a Buckethead fan. What the fuck am I doing?
Indeed. My biggest gnr disappointment of this decade was Buckethead leaving. And I lament that each and every time I listen to TWAT!

All said, I want a renunion as much as anyone, but cant help feeling like we are all getting a little ahead of ourselves here.
I (sadly) predict silence next year. Although I do hope cogs start turning in the background while we get the silent treatment.

You are dead right there about Adler, but would Slash care enough about that? Slash has a history with Sorum, and Axl has stated that Adler comes with nightmares about his mom and ambulances in tow.
Would either Axl or Slash care enough to get Adler on board, or care enough about the consequences on Adler's personal state if he was denied that reunion chance? Adler presents a risk, and if its money thats the driver he may not be the safe option.
Although I agree, I always liked Adler, and he was there at the start, he deserves his place in it. A possible Hall of Fame show seems ideal to me.

Totally, it gets tiring doesnt it....sigh...
#7 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » God damn, how great is Estranged!!! » 734 weeks ago
Because Axl is crazy. The fact that garbage like Riad, Scraped, and Shackler made it onto CD is pretty sad. THAT is the best collection of songs he could come up with after 15 years?
Agree with all that, apart from Shackler. Never liked Riad - always grated me. Scraped is pretty weak too imo.
But Shackler, I love the vocal tone, the grubby riff. I'm even partial to the disco chorus for some reason. Really dont know why, but I like it. It's like eating really strong dog shit smelling cheese, it's totally out of order, but for some reason I love it. Thats how I feel about Shackler.

right heeerree....right now
I know....awful isnt it? !!
Actually, for a good few years I couldnt stand listening to it, totally embarrased that I used to like it. Both Liquidizer and Doubt.
Although a while ago I threw it on and could stomach it once more. Maybe its because I'm getting old so dont care anymore!

Estranged - awesome!
Locomotove - So Fine - Estranged all 3 in a row, damn near perfect, totally epic.
I'd love to hear those live again, and so so wanted to hear some more UYI tracks on the tours since 06.
Even myworld - back in 91 I thought that was pretty cool, just a cool out of the ordinary thing. But hey, I was listening to Future Sound of London and a lot of Orb too back then, hell even Jesus Jones.

mav here - been lurking for years. Posted about two or three times as "jonesy" back in 05 / 06.
Been into GnR since, 88. Saw them in 92 at Wembley UK, and twice in 06 (brixton, NEC uk). They ruled my world once. Then the leaks had me drawn back in, just out of pure pervert curiosity.
I play guitar and drums, some bass. Used to go to a jazz school for drums, but can rock with the best of them! I've played in bands (punk/rock/jazz), gigged/recorded/broke up and all that fun. Make my own tunes when I can now as I dont have time for all that fuss anymore.
I just want to hear some new music from Axl.....
