Best case scenario is there's some new info on unreleased songs like Tonto & Oklahoma, but not getting my hopes up.

Ides of March is Circus Maximus

'Ides of March' was a working title of one of the songs that came from a loop name that Dizzy came up with: I think they kept the name, but it's been years so I'm sure everything has changed by now." (Dave Dominguez, Sp1at, 02/07/05)

To quote Wasted regarding circus maximus"Would you say this has a Dizzy Loop on it?"

Yeah .. I doubt Ides of March is Nothing. Seems like a huge stretch.

On the other hand, they seemed to have a fetish for constantly changing working titles...and if there was a brief attempt at sticking to a particular theme, it's possible Ides and Circus were two different songs.

How the hell does Oklahoma morph into Berlin? What's the connection?

Look at Seven.... God only knows what that really is. Devious Bastards has a clip of the Mercury 7 astronauts.

Coincidence?  Did they scrap this song.... obviously a Bucket song ...but reuse that clip for Seven?

There's very little rhyme or reason to any of it unfortunately.

I know one thing.....the CD leftovers and the Village leaks show us that just because a song title appears to be epic doesn't make it so...even if described as such eons ago. A song that might have been epic couldn't be because it was simply abandoned/relegated to the "B list".

Did you ever have any luck locating that 2001 setlist pic with Oklahoma as an alt for Riad? Some on Mygnr have questioned its legitimacy. Hard to have a debate either way with the pic seemingly lost media at this point.

Circus Maximus has never been confirmed to be connected to Ides Of March and should not be postulated as such. It's just a theory.

Probably the Atlas/CubanskiesDummy whackjob who makes up nonsense for shits and giggles. Since the forums have tired of him I've seen him spamming his bullshit on Twitter, wouldn't be surprised if he was doing it on Youtube as well.

I wonder if this will be the next single to be released.  Does anyone know why it wasn't released when the General was released since both tracks leaked around the same time?

Seems they wanted it to be a secret track on the vinyl, but found they couldn't fit it on without compromising the quality.

I wrote Duff has the dat tapes you above wrote he maybe has them but then brought up how his management team got them back in 2019 so I'm confused on what you're saying ?

I'm saying that maybe Duff has that particular DAT with Down By The Ocean but we can't be sure of that, because he had apparently lost some of the other DATs from the same sessions that were found in that storage space, which may be an indication that he hadn't kept any of those tapes.

I'm also saying that regardless of whether Duff has that DAT or not, Down By The Ocean might not even be from those sessions.

But let's say that Duff has the dats. How would that be related to Nothing being Down By The Ocean?

Well if it was co written by Duff it's more likely to be used by Axl since Duff is a member in gnr and the partnership.
Giving Izzy money for his contributions or just reworking the song from Izzy parts would eliminate his writing credentials no ?

How is Monsters Soul Monster ?
I don't believe it is but since it's named Monsters and a lyric has the word Soul in it it must be Soul Monster according to your pal Soulmonster and the mygnr folks correct ?

Btw i have proven Marco Beltrami memory on what songs he worked not to be reliable if you were planning going down that route i can happily direct you or copy paste the information here.

Well Nothin' has the line Down By The Sea in the song isn't that the same criteria ?

Did you know in Webster's dictionary Monstrosity literally means Monster in the english language ?

Or that Guns N' Roses had 2 songs back to back on uyi 1 with garden in it !
Track 11 The Garden  Track 12 Garden Of Eden. To quote Johnny Carson...Wild Stuff ! ( that's for you James)

I was told by a source a week ago Nothin'  was Down By The Ocean and until Sp1at who i respect and i know is reputable said it wasn't it was making sense to me.

Is that fair, can you see it from my perspective ?

I'm not 100% right and have been wrong with information but people forget who first told them about Children Of The Revolution and many other things.

Btw in hindsight doesn't seem like Nothin' and Atlas were supposed to be released on June 6th 2025 to support the tour and on the 40th anniversary of gnr first show ?

I don't understand the Soul Monster/Monsters debate. Yes, the fact that it has the phrase "you stole my soul" along with the word monster is quite decisive evidence, not sure why that's being laughed off. But Axl's own words even further solidify the theory. His description of the mean bridge and the Sabbath vibe also match perfectly. Sure, Monstrosity could turn out to be Soul Monster, but there's nothing to indicate that, especially given the mountain of evidence connecting Monsters-Soul Monster. If Monstrosity being a variation of the word monster is an indication it might be, then that also further makes the case for Monsters being SM given both words are used in the song.

Let's be honest here, a lot of this theorizing can be very easily attributed to hoping that the instrumental we originally thought was SM (Me & My Elvis) did not go unused. It's certainly a shame if it wasn't, but Elvis sounds nothing like Black Sabbath. Have no idea what guys like you like and Gordon Comstock are talking about when you say that. It's industrial rock in the same vein as Finck's contribution to the Ghost Of Mars soundtrack.

sp1at, do you know if Zodiac was ever completed with vocals?

On the village disc it list Zodiac no vox so it's safe to assume it has vocals.

Yeah, but they could also be scratch vocals like Quicksong.

Post from JimiRose on Mygnr: "tickets were advertised, bought and sold under false pretences - the fact the songs were never even loaded up onto the streaming platforms is evidence they were never even intended to be released - it takes 3-10 working days for all releases to be verified and ratified through the system, so they would have had to upload the songs at least a week or so BEFORE the release date to have a chance of achieving that date. they're not instantly uploaded. GnR NEVER intended to release these."

If so, this would be taking James theory of the Chinese bait and switch to a whole new level.
