Okay, it gives a bit of hope then.

This is why I'm as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

This is the big enchilada..the top dog...Numero uno...the king of kings...epic of epics.

From a hardcore fan perspective, there's a lot riding on this. It's similar to the unveiling of Prostitute after the hype/lengthy wait but on a bigger scale.

If it winds up average/below average, what little wind is left in the sails of this saga is basically gone.

It's still hard to believe that it's coming out.

At least Prostitute ended up decent.  I remember at first hearing the intro and saying "what the fuck?", but the song improved as it built and then on additional listens ended up being a song I liked.

This one, I was ready to shut it off halfway through but thought I'd keep it going hoping for a late revelation only to hear the "Good News" loop and thought to myself, "damn, I'd really love to hear a 7 minute version of My World more than that".

Late to this one, but this is the "big gun" we've been waiting for?

Kind of lame.  A symphonic tribute to the riff from Black Sabbath with Axl's vocal overdubbed 60 times to the point of sounding like nothing for something between 4-7 minutes.  I'm not so sure that's "Good News".

#4 Re: Guns N' Roses » It's happening. » 256 weeks ago

It's time for Dr. Pepper, Red Bull or some other shitty soda pop to do their jobs and coax Axl to making this happen again, this year.  That's what it took last time.

PS. Everyone clamoring for the cover songs they've been performing making the album, why would we want any real estate on an album we've been waiting for nearly 30 years to come along to be filled with Cover filler.  If we want to own versions of those songs, push for a live album release that includes those tracks.

Remember when the world scoffed at the Kiss Box Set for over $1000.  That was for 34 albums and similar goodies.  This is for one.  Unbelievable really.  Would love to get access to the vinyl for the B-Sides album, but can't justify paying a $1000 to get them.

I also disagree about the Ten remaster, that sounded great, and it was a remix by Brendan O’Brien too, and it sounded much better. Just the little bit more raw and rocking. I’m surprised you guys didn’t notice that?

I sort of agree.  The remix by BOB was great.  Unfortunately, they completely fucked up the mastering essentially ruining his work.  Brickwalled mess.

I sure hope they don't turn this classic album in a brick walled POS for future generations.

I know a few of the bands, but holy moly that is a lot of Indie music.  Pitchfork probably loves the lineup.

I'd start by checking on Discogs to see if there is anything to tell it apart like the Matrix/Runouts near the label or any other unique identifiers.  Might not help if the bootlegs are really detailed rip-offs, but usually it is enough to tell the difference.  It should definitely help in telling you the difference between reprints/reissues vs. original pressings.

Wow. Very powerful.  The part " like so many other kids, they lost their father years ago. What they truly lost on December 3rd was hope" is sad but true. Not just true for him but many drug addicts.

Also made a good point at the circus mentality when these artists start fucking up on that level in public. Jani Lane suffered a similar fate.

Jani Lane was one of the first people I thought of when I heard of Scott's passing.  His story is a true tragedy even to the point that when he passed, few bother to even talk about it.  Always thought that people underrated him due to the scene he was attached to.

Something about this looks fishy to me.  Artwork looks bootleggish and the website looks kind of fake.  I'd hesitate about signing up to that mailing list or liking on facebook until GNR confirms it is legit on their site, facebook page or twitter page
