#91 Re: Guns N' Roses » 2023 Tour Dates » 112 weeks ago

I've been saying this for a while but if they're a nostalgia act with no intention of releasing anything, then be honest and say that.

Kiss don't BS about what they are. If this is all you're gonna do, then at least front up.

The dangling of the carrot and the occasional comment... That's what is most frustrating.

Inevitably Slash or Duff will be interviewed and be asked again. I hope if nothing is soon they say that honestly. I'll expect they'll BS again.

Hiya,

Songs are coming out soon, summertime. Record label are the goto for this, band members vague on anything

Year off next year, assumed from external parties and plans outside gnr

Glastonbury will have at least one guest possibly, source, the guest. Very guessable lol

Better not be Carrie Underwood! They really could make a splash by having Izzy and Steven imo

It's not Carrie. It's Glasto, so it has to be a surprise. Not wanting to spoil things, if it's true. We did the line up first, I think that's enough lol

There's nothing else, just what I wrote, which is as Slash said anyway. Not sure what the record company are planning. As per the other Slash comments, he says he will, and has, be writing, then collaborating with GNR at a later time. From a secondary, not him.

As for the unreleased CD material, I've asked if it'll get released at a later time, the record company said, not anytime soon

So now you're saying that the reheated Chinese leftovers that Slash said were coming off soon are infact not coming out anytime soon?

Seeing Metallica do their promo and the buzz and the multi-year tour must at least light some sort of competitive fire in GnR.

There are years of evidence to suggest it does not.

That said coincidentally in the last two years where Metallica released an album (08 and 16), GNR did actually do something (released CD and reunion).

Round 2 begins now I suppose.

I would believe we might get the next 2 songs. Like didn't slash say they did a handful around the time they did Absurd/Hardschool?

Slash has given numerous timelines now for more of the CD leftovers and they've come and gone.

The last update was him saying back in October that the remaining batches (1-2 songs in each batch) would be coming out over the next "few months".

We're half way through April now, it's been a few months. That window has now also passed.

He's been wrong so many times now that we're back to the CD era of members like Tommy saying it's coming and nothing ever happening. These songs frankly may never come out and could have been shelved for all we know.

It's sad. And I'm sorry I don't believe your timeline either sp1at. Not because I think you're lying, but because like Slash I think you're told something and then it just doesn't happen.

So the album is out now. It's good and enjoyable. Anyone expecting the second coming of Puppets, was deluded but what we've got here is a solid hard rock/metal album.

There's some great riffs on this and some songs with some great grooves.

The intro to the single they put out for release day, hooks you instantly.

I wish they had just announced years ago that they have no desire to release anything. At least we'd know where they stand. Im sick of the dangling a carrot strategy.

This.

There are plenty of bands and artists who don't release new material and just tour and their fans don't mind. Sure, they may hope for new stuff but they don't have an expectation - so they don't get frustrated by it.

At this point there's been years of the dangling of the CD 2 carrot. Some of these songs were even. dangled prior to Chinese (Atlas, Oklahoma and The General)!

In January this past year, Slash said there would be more new music in June/July time and then after that fell through he later discussed the plans for releasing this extra handful of songs in October and said "over the next few months" and then started discussing recording a new album for scratch in the second half of next year!

If 2023 goes by without anything then I think I quit following and will see them one last time when they announce a "Last Ever" type tour.

Some of that is this admin’s fault. Some of it isn’t and is due to factors outwith their control either because of decisions made in other countries or because these are historical issues finally coming to bear and they’re the ones holding the can.

Don’t think it’s any more complex than that. At the end of the day - mortgage payments, gas prices and the cost of a bottle of milk are what swing elections in most western countries.

I was wrong. It turns out that platforming election denying conspiracy theorists and backing an unhinged moron in Trump was off putting enough to swing it to the Dems. Actually surprised to be honest. Economic fears be damned.

I really dislike DeSantis and his platform on social and “culture” issues. He has had a great election night (with some caveats) and it does seem like he’s the front runner for the GOP nomination though and IMO the Dems need to put someone more fresh and polished than Biden up in 2024 or he’ll have it in the bag.

That said - I don’t know if his very hard “anti-woke” platform and focus translates well to a national and winning the college educated suburban votes. If he adjusts and moderates a bit though… I think he wins.

#99 Re: The Garden » Covid 19 » 138 weeks ago

When I had it earlier this year it sucked, but only one day stood as really bad. Felt crushed by it for a whole day, can't recall being that sick in a long time.

Other than that, just long 4-6 week recovery back to full normal. Just had another bug recently (not Covid - did a test) and it had 2 bad days but none as bad as Covid. Even this thing though has left me feeling rough for the past week.

It's winter, lots of bugs going around. Get your flu and covid shots - putting the other shit like long Covid to one side, just having catching these things sucks to deal with.

I always forget how OMG is still in play. It's a possibility since they had some of the lyrics on the screen a couple years ago.

I'm ok with it....I just hope it isn't next. Save that one as one of the last singles.

They're still on screen when they play YCBM IIRC. It's weird.
