#991 Re: The Sunset Strip » Guillermo del Toro to direct 'The Hobbit' 2-part movie » 896 weeks ago
For someone who isn't a Rings fan, but is a fan of del Toro's, specifically his breathtaking horror/fairy tales, this is a real waste of del Toro's time and talent. The Rings universe is Jackson's baby. We already lost one horror director and he still hasn't come back. We lost Raimi to Spider-Man, but I still have faith in him and his new project Drag Me to Hell. Now del Toro is making this huge studio movie on a property I myself have zero interest in for the next four years ... very disappointing. I'm sorry to all Rings fans, that's just my opinion, as a hardcore horror fan.

Someone tell me when the download is up on the NIN site. I just checked and it's not yet. I've been having trouble with the rapidshare download, and I still really want to hear this track. I might as well wait for Trent's free mp3.

CC, I posted your link up in the Robin/GN'R thread. I hope you don't mind. I credited you. Thanks.

#997 Re: The Sunset Strip » New Priest Streaming online! » 896 weeks ago
I downloaded it off their site immediately yesterday and have listened to it nonstop since. It's quite possibly one of the most metal songs of all time. It kicks fucking ass!
The Priest is back!
#998 Re: Guns N' Roses » So who on here would go to a GNR reunion? » 896 weeks ago
No, I know what you mean. I assume if there was a reunion, Izzy would be involved in a songwriting capacity. The thing that makes me the most nervous about a possible reunion is that Izzy, to this point the only neutral figure between the two camps, doesn't seem too keen on ever coming back into the spotlight in that capacity. Touring and promotion and such.

I know that's exactly what I'd want. If they could play one of those killer '91 Illusions heavy set lists ... I've seen the current Appetite tribute several times. I've seen VR play those same songs, too. To be honest with you, I'm more interested in seeing a reunion of the Illusions era lineup. No disrespect to Adler, but I prefer Sorum as a player and I think that's who'd get the job anyway. If it's not Sorum, it still won't be Adler. Which sucks for Adler because he'll probably just up and kill himself. Izzy can write with them, but he won't tour. Bring back Gilby? Maybe. I liked him. I wouldn't be surprised to see the current VR become the new/old Guns with the addition of Axl and Dizzy. Keep Dave on rhythm for the live shows. Why not? If a reunion was Axl, Slash, Dave, Duff, Matt, and Dizzy, is there anyone who'd really have a problem with that?
#1000 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumor: Axl and Slash at same hotel in NYC? » 896 weeks ago
These ongoing "negotiations" should be for Axl and his revolving door of session players (most of whom have now bailed or are bailing) to release Chinese Democracy as a solo album. It would still prove his superior musicianship and what he brought to the table during Guns heyday. The songs we've heard are really phenomenal. Anyway, release it as a solo album and just bury the fucking hatchet already. We want it. They want it. C'mon. This is going to happen sooner or later and it looks to be sooner and sooner every week. You want to take some of the juggernaut cost of Chinese Democracy off your back, Axl? Just spit it out there and let it fly. Get back the original Guns N' Roses, record an album with Slash and co. and tour it. Your label would make so much money they'd be shitting green. No more bitching about the cost of CD.
