#1001 Re: Guns N' Roses » So who on here would go to a GNR reunion? » 896 weeks ago

I'd be there. Count on it. I'd be at the first show, no matter where it was. I'd be there. Just seeing Axl and Slash come out on stage together would probably make me tear up. No lie. If this actually went down, and there's been a lot of weird stuff going on in Guns land this week, it would blow my mind.

I used to be really into Prick. I've lost touch with my old industrial tastes. I have Prick's second album, autographed. I was trying to sell it and the first album the other day. Not really looking for much more than a couple bucks. If anyone else is into Prick, let me know. Sometimes they're hard to come by...

To be fair, we don't really know what Axl's hair is looking like these days. Just saying...

Best CD era lineup: Robin Finck, Buckethead, Paul Huge, Tommy Stinson, Brain, Dizzy Reed & Chris Pitman. We're down to three, two of whom are really expendable (and one of those two almost completely unnecessary). Isn't it ironic that NOW we stand to finally see this album released? Looks like Axl will be touring behind it with CD Phase IV. Finck was the heir to Slash's throne, not Bumblefoot. Buckethead took the CD recordings to mythic levels, not Fortus. I'm glad for the update, but sad at the current state of my favorite band.

Marilyn Manson's actually an intelligent, articulate, captivating artist. Whatever the mainstream media's misconceptions about him, lumping him in with this pathetic stunt is just silly.

James, she's actually now denying it was a hoax, last I heard. Either way it doesn't matter. It's not art, it's simply in poor taste. Anyone trying to make a valid pro-choice argument was just given an extra mile to leap thanks to this dumb bitch.

I tried to get tickets during the pre-sale all week long, starting Tuesday morning. I'm a writer and usually try to do a piece on a big show like this. It's very important to me I get as close to the stage as possible, ie pit tickets. I won't go to a rock show without a GA pit. Sucks because the nearest six or so venues to me with the Crue sold out of their pit tickets miraculously BEFORE the FAN CLUB pre-sale. So yeah, I got royally fucked. I made some phone calls, explained my situation, even tried to waive my being in the press in their face. No luck. These cocksucker venues only dish out the "secret" tickets to those few of their choosing long before either the public onsale or the pre-sale. I thought, well maybe, just maybe, more pit spots will open up during the public onsale this morning. I'm willing to travel between six venues to experience this show right. No luck. Funniest thing? At 10AM, when my closest venue was already all but sold out, eBay was literally stocked to the brim with tickets to the show. So were other scalper-friendly sites. There were more tickets available elsewhere than the actual ticket seller had available at the time of the public onsale. Well now, I try my best, but I can't afford $500-1000 for a fucking concert. Greedy sons of bitches. You know, there should be laws ... oh wait, there are. Needless to say, my day started off shitty and never quite recovered. After missing the reunited Crue on their last tour and been really dying to see Sixx:A.M. and a post-success Buckcherry (I loved them when they'd come play our tiny clubs here), I can't go at all. I'll be fixing my sig soon to reflect that. Up yours Ticketmaster, scalpers, and the lucky fucks who got good tickets and aren't me.

Man, fuck this shit. I've licked the new band's balls long enough. Fuck Richard Fortus and these endless goddamn interviews about shit nobody cares about. No comment? In the past eight years I've refrained from doing this, but you know what? Slash would have a comment. Duff would have a comment. They didn't get led around by the dick on a retainer. I'm just so goddamn sick of Pisser and X Japan and every other worthless piece of shit project that gets announced and talked about and ballyhooed around like any real Guns fan gives one fucking shit about it. We want to know about THE BAND YOU'RE BEING INTERVIEWED ABOUT. If you can't talk because only Uncle Axl can, then shut the fuck up until he wants to speak up himself. It's not reaching out to the fans, it's being a cocktease and it's fucking boring. The soap opera ends here.

#1008 Re: The Sunset Strip » Fred Durst...... » 897 weeks ago

He looks 100% better, especially with the naturally gray beard and now that he's stopped trying to hide the fact that he's obviously lost his hair. I'll never get the intense, and I mean INTENSE, vitriolic hatred I see directed towards this guy. One minute the media and MTV helped to elevate and stroke his ego to monumental proportions, then disowned him as a prick and laughed as he dropped off the face of the earth. The sad thing is, Limp Bizkit actually made some catchy music, Durst always seemed likeable enough to me. As I said before, who wouldn't get a big head the way TRL paraded him around as his generation's fucking Jim Morrison. I'd like to see him concentrate more on directing, his videos were never half bad, especially his clip for Deadsy's "The Key to Gramercy Park."

#1009 Re: The Sunset Strip » Most Recent Movie You've Seen » 898 weeks ago

Von

"Street Kings." Excellent movie. I went in last night with no real expectations and was just looking to get out of the house and go to a movie. Much to my surprise, it was one of the better gritty, crime dramas to come out in a long while. Keanu Reeves gives a career-high performance. Last week I went to see Carter Smith's "The Ruins" adaptation. It was more fun than you'd want to think. What appealed to me was that it didn't feel like the typical "new horror" movies that have been coming out. As much as I was expecting the worst sitting through some of the more generic opening scenes, ultimately it does the book justice and feels more like an old school, jungle horror flick. It wasn't perfect, and it didn't exactly wow me like say "Grindhouse" did this time last year, but what else are you going to see? "Prom Night"? I think not. If you want to see a dark urban masterpiece, see "Street Kings." If you want to see the best horror movie in theaters by default, see "The Ruins."

Bring on -- barring the unexpected release of Chinese Democracy -- the best album of '08. The Crue kicks ass, now and forever.
