are there really 2 L.A. Guns right now?

After Tracii Guns left LA Guns to pursue Brides Of Destruction he gave his blessing to the remaining members of LA Guns to carry on without him and they did.  Phil Lewis, Steve Riley and Adam Hamilton brought in a lot of fill in guitarists to gig with until they hired Stacey Blades to record with.  After two great albums, Hamilton left and they hired Scott Griffin to replace him last year.  I've seen the latest incarnation of that band twice and it's the best live version yet IMO.

Last year Tracii decided to put together a second version of the band with "original" members Paul Black and Nicky Alexander to celebrate it's 20th anniversary and has continued to tour (pretty successfully) with his version of the band.  I have yet to see them live but from what I've heard from other people and seen on YouTube it's a mixed bag of good and not so good.  Nonetheless I'd definitely pay to see them live if they ever come close to Charlotte.

Charlotte NC?  I lived in Rock Hill, South Carolina breifly and lived on the coast in a town called Manteo (near Nags Head).

Right now Blu-Ray is winning the war.  Blockbuster isn't even carrying HD-Dvd any longer.  As far as video quality they are both excellent and it would be hard to say which is better athough (strictly an opinion here) I think the blu-rays can produce a bit more "depth" in the picture quality.  From a technical standpoint the Blu- Ray is superior as it can hold 15x the info that a HD-DVD can.   That doesn't mean that it will come out the victor.  Betamax was superior to the VHS yet VHS won.  MD was superior to the CD, CD won.

Welcome aboard Cusack, I like L.A. Guns myself.  Cocked and Loaded is one of my all-time favorite rock albums...pure fun and sleaze very much in the vein of a certain other band with a "gun" in their name.  16

That was a good game between the Steelers and Jags but another bad call may have cost the Steelers the game.  The refs MUST step it up and there MUST be more personal liability for bad calls.  When Madden and Al both are saying they don't agree with the ref's call on a game-changing PLAYOFF game like this the NFL needs to realize it isn't just fan-bickering.

The REAL games will be next week.   16-0 is impressive but if New England doesn't finish the dance they become laughed at instead of awed.

Yeah, it's a great tune Neemo.  Slash, Ozzy, Lemme...one song.  Need I say more?  You can also find it on Ozzy's Prince of Darkness.

The Hellfire Club, Peter Straub's best work since Ghost Story.

The industry is only biting the hand that feeds them.  Losing some money because of file sharing is better than losing alot more money due to the backlash that will follow from this kind of action.

EXCELLENT movie, I have to agree with Neemo that anyone who is a fan of football and/or played the sport needs to watch this movie.  It was a huge tragedy but a great story of human resolve and strength.

#1010 Re: The Sunset Strip » Time to give props to Diamond Dave » 912 weeks ago

You have to check out the DLR Band's album as well.  This one had a very much "old school classic VH" sound.  Standouts on the album:  Slam Dunk!/Counter-Blast/Lose the Dress (Keep the Shoes)/King of the Hill/Going Places.../Wa Wa Zat!!/Relentless/Weekend With The Baby Sitter.  Also the album A Little Ain't Enough should be checked out, the standouts: (the title song)/Lady Luck/Tell the Truth/Last Call/Drop in the Bucket.  All great stuff.  The next album dropped in quality sharply (Your Filthy Little Mouth) producing only two decent songs: Big Train/Everybody's Got the Monkey.  After this came the album "Diamond Dave"...don't bother.
