#1001 Re: The Sunset Strip » "What Are You Listening To" Thread » 901 weeks ago
I'm watching listening to Paul Mcartney playing at the Liverpool capital of culture event. Very cool - he's just played 'Back in the USSR' (with Dave Grohl on driums) and 'Live and Let Die'. Hmm, which other band have I heard cover those songs live?
He's now on 'let it be'

It would be pretty if Axl had a personal translator who gave his answers in Chinese.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNN
I agree with Russ...no cover art or tracklisting...no credibility...I actually think its probably they do when they get bored or on their break

Jeez, what next Axl doing interviews to some magazine in China written in some obscure Chinese dialect?
Sometimes this band does my fucking head in.
If nothing comes after say August they are going to look like right TWATS. Which is probably why Robin went.
To their defence I don't really care what 'era' the music sounds like - The Black Crowes use to sound like a band out of the 60/70s and they were cool - just as long as it makes me happy. I actually think Better still sounds pretty fresh though, wish there were more songs like that.

#1005 Re: Guns N' Roses » Tommy/Westerberg consider a Replacements reunion » 903 weeks ago
I have never heard any of the Replacements and for one reason or another I've never found the urge to find out. Bought Village Gorilla Head though and loved it.
#1006 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl's years of therapy - what has been achieved? » 903 weeks ago
Sic, I agree with a lot of your speculation, but it seems that Axl is unable to finish anything, even in full control. I guess he's so paranoid and afraid of failure that it ruins everything.
If he doesn't release Chinese Democracy it will be deemed a failure anyway so he might as well get on with it.

U.S. radio/TV personality Eddie Trunk spoke to guitar legend Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) for a special currently running on the MSG network.
A six-minute excerpt from the interview can be viewed below.
According to Trunk, the following information was revealed during the chat:
"VELVET REVOLVER will continue. They are in the early stages of looking for a new singer. He wants someone who is a pro, but with no baggage. He agrees with me that VR could have made better records and said that due to inner band issues some of the best material written never made the CDs. He said they knew (Scott) Weiland was done prior to the European dates and had made the decision to replace him before he even knew it. The core of the band remains together and committed to making a great album and will continue. He acknowledged the scary similarities between Axl (Rose) and Weiland and how things unravelled, and said he was much more willing to hang in there with GUNS but would not tolerate it again with Scott. He understands how people hope for a GN'R classic lineup reunion, but says it is very unlikely at any point in the near future. He said that there are issues on his end with Axl and issues from Axl's end with him. He feels Axl's issues with him will be harder to resolve than his issues with Axl. Essentially Slash said one of his biggest problem with ever working with Axl again would be Axl being professional and playing on time and showing up for things. He said he could never be in a situation where union overtime and late starts are always an issue, and noted that from what he has seen that has not changed with Axl. He did say he would never say never, but it is not likely and clearly both parties have moved on."

I thought his answers involving Axl were... a little embarrassing.
The history behind Without you was interesting, but some of it struck me as a little
childish. Like a 12 year old defending his girlfriend. You think Dizzy and Tommy appreciate him spilling the beans about keeping a few
suicide girls on their bus?
I wouldn't be surprised if its been over a year since Tommy and Dizzy have seen Del. Or Axl

Like I said in another thread, makes me wander when (or I suppose if) there is ever a release set for this album Axl will bother to promote it himself, or simply rely on marketing tie ins and the likes of Sebastian Bach and Del James to do it for him.
