Adler: "I meant to say scabs instead of hacks."

Is that any better? How does it affect things now?

It's all bullshit nowadays, what a circus!

There's now one less mystery surrounding Guns N' Roses' entrance into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: Green Day will deliver their induction speech. While Slash, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler, Matt Sorum and Dizzy Reed have all indicated they'll be present at the April 14th ceremony in Cleveland, Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin have yet to publicly confirm their attendance. If Rose doesn't show, it's unlikely that the group will perform – and it's unclear whether or not Green Day will play in their place.

Green Day join an all-star group of speakers slated for the ceremony. Chris Rock is going to induct the Red Hot Chili Peppers alongside Bette Midler for Laura Nyro, Chuck D for the Beastie Boys, ZZ Top for Freddie King, Carole King for Don Kirshner, John Mellencamp for Donovan and Steve Van Zandt for Small Faces/Faces. Robbie Robertson will also be there to induct Cosimo Matassa, Tom Dowd and Glyn Johns, and Smokey Robinson will induct the Blue Caps, the Comets, the Crickets, the Famous Flames, the Midnighters and the Miracles.

The possibility of a Guns N' Roses reunion at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has intrigued fans of the group for many years. They haven't performed with drummer Adler since 1990, and Rose hasn't played with Slash since 1993. Rose currently tours with a new lineup of Guns N' Roses, though in recent years original members McKagan and Stradlin have sat in with the band on rare occasions.

"Everyone has been asking me what's going to happen [at the Hall of Fame]," Slash told Rolling Stone earlier this week.  "And they know as much as I do. I feel you're totally obligated to be present and I would love to fucking play, but it's just something that's not gonna happen for whatever reason." Relations between Rose and Slash remain, to put it mildly, strained. "He hates my guts," says Slash. "It's over a lot of different stuff; I don't even know. There's just no communication between us. I talk to Duff and Steven, but when it comes to old Guns N' Roses, there really isn't anybody that makes decisions."

I know that Axl and Izzy rejected Slash on both Rose and AXL several times, but once Traci and Rob were out and they had a tour booked (and paid for), when Slash appeared with Adler, it was all they needed...

I was watching the CBGB's interview from 87, before Lies came out...
There was a CLEAR tension between Axl and Slash back then (Axl, at some point, while Slash speaking over him almost ask him to shut up and goes like "now you just blew it all") and Axl seemed to have all the way to Illusions tracked on his mind.

He talks about "an acoustic ep" (LIES), "a double album, we wanna release 40 songs we're confident in" (UYI) and he was damn confident that was the way to go.

I think, to this day, that once Illusions came out, the back-then "Vault" was cleared and - TO ME - it always felt that was made on purpose. It always seemed to me that Axl knew things were gonna burst between him and Slash and that he wanted to release all they had (instead of an album every two years) and start over.

And I'm pretty sure he wanted Slash onboard but not as a writer, only as a collaborator as in Estranged or November Rain. I think Axl hates Slash because Slash never shared Axl's vision or wanted to, at least, give it a try.

Bumblefoot on Twitter:
<< Steven Adler Calls Guns N' Roses Lineup 'Hacks' >> I'm just glad Neil Peart didn't say that, then I'd be bummed out.... lol.

And Adler, oh, Adler, just put things to rest. Freak as Axl is about everything people say about him, this quotes from Adler make it, IN MY POV, impossible to Axl to reunite with Adler on HOF.
http://loudwire.com/steven-adler-calls- … rock-hall/

First the rubbish Oh-Please-Adler-Dont-Embarass-Me:
"Put it this way; if the five original GN’R guys don’t get up there and play, I’m going up there just on the drum set and playing a couple of songs from ‘Appetite for Destruction.’"

Then chaos:
"“He’s my brother. I know he’s up to it,” Adler says about Slash and the Rock Hall reunion. “He wants to do it. I want to do it. Just from what I hear, Izzy [Stradlin]‘s not gonna show up and Axl will probably want to play with his hack band — his band of hacks. ‘Axl and His Hacks’ — it shouldn’t even be Guns N’ Roses. He’s just driving that name into the freakin’ ground. ‘Axl and His Hacks.’"

1 minute into this video:

Slash: " "There should just be the five of us, but there are two other guys coming that were invited.  I don't know exactly how that works."

WOW! He's now dismissing Matt and Dizzy... I understand the banging on Dizzy, but on Matt that even plays with him on VR?

WOW!

I guess that's a clearly indication things are not that well on VR and that there's more things we aren't aware of.

+1 Karma for Otto.

So, now he admits Going Down IS a new song and it isn't a Freddy King cover.  Nice. I wonder what he means by "eathry."

He mentioned it as "Earthy as more organic, not industrial"

Perhaps a more blues-based or stripped down song?
