i record my demos on a very old and cheap 4 track recorder. i agree with you that the song has its moments, but never really goes anywhere. i always envisioned it as being a somber (and somewhat pointless) end to a record and tried to structure it as a metaphor for life itself.

i don't know much about recording (or even playing!), but i'm eager to learn, so your post is EXTREMELY appreciated.

i did one take of the guitar, one take of the vocals / maraca (which were recorded at the same time), and two takes of the keyboard, which ultimately barely ended up in the mix.

what is DAW?

what is a piezo pick-up?

thank you for the tips on how to mic the acoustic. i will try that next time for sure.

good call on the lack of confidence on the first few bars. i hear that now as well.

If Robert Plant can "handle the songs", and if Mick Jagger can still be relevant while walking around the stage talking the songs, I think Cornell will do just fine. He sings Soundgarden and Audioslave songs on his solo tours, and there's no reason to think he cant do it just because Thayil, Shepard, and Cameron are on stage with him.

I am fairly certain Cameron gets paid mighty well with Pearl Jam so I wouldn't be so sure he would go scurrying back for a Soundgarden reunion. Honestly, a regular Pearl Jam tour would get more money than a Soundgarden reunion. Just my opinion.

However, a Soundgarden/Pearl Jam bill would be fantastic...that way, he could have his cake and eat it too!

Axl lashed out at him too when he was posting on the forums saying that certain recent bigraphies were un factual and tried to re-write history and take on "ok" band and turn them into a "great" band.

HAvent the patience to track down the Axl  comments but now that I think of it they are in the Del James interview

He DID say that, but his opinion may have changed now that his good friend DJ is a part of the current lineup.  Maybe he sees things in a different light now as DJ may have given him some insight into the situation rather than just making his own assumptions.

Obviously if it happened, DJ would be the reason.  Without him I'd say there's next to zero chance but with him, it could be a possibility.  I'd love to see it, never gotten around to seeing Motley live.
