#1061 Re: Guns N' Roses » Frontman Says GUNS N' ROSES Is Prime Example Of How Not To Act On Tour » 904 weeks ago
I thought I'd already replied to this thread a looong time ago, but I guess not. Bullet for My Valentine can suck my dick. They're more of the "modern" American metal shit that's all but ruined Headbangers Ball for me. Funny, I don't remember GN'R playing any half-hour sets on the 06/07 tour. And let me tell you something else, Rob Zombie is a class act. Anybody who knows how he deals with the fans, who knows how he deals with the press, and who knows how he deals with his own crew and support bands knows that the shit they said about him was total, utter bullshit. I remember it well, and I'm glad the Zombie canned their fucktard asses. If they didn't like the way Axl treated his own audience (not theirs, since no one gives two shits about them), they should have manned up and confronted him about it while enjoying his good catering and the large audiences he drew for them to play, not to mention the opportunity itself. But they didn't. They tossed his name around on the internet and in interviews after the fact to get themselves some free press. And guess what? It worked. Here we are still talking about them, a mediocre mall metal band. Done.

But they're Axl's own accomplishments, too. Members come and go. He's allowed to continue with whatever name if he chooses to. It's his music. What Mick Wall is doing is completely different and far more malicious.
#1063 Re: The Sunset Strip » Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles » 904 weeks ago
I'm not. I think the John Connor of T2 was the definitive version of the character. Every performance since then has been some sort of presumption as to how Furlong would play it older, but it's still a carbon copy of that performance. Especially Nick Stahl. This guy, Thomas Dekker, he's pretty good. Bale I don't see as John Connor at all. Quite frankly, his involvement in the series still confuses me. But yes, I'm a fan of Eddie Furlong's. He's actually a talented actor who's delivered quite a few excellent performances. If he could only clean himself up now and get a fair break he might be something more than he is. I've been working on a script with Furlong as the basis for the main character.

I like this John way better than Nick Stahl in T3. Of course, no one can touch Furlong, not even Bale. He owned the role.

Quentin Tarantino, who was handpicked by Axl to direct the insanely epic video for "Madagascar." Universal balked at Tarantino's proposed budget and director's fee, but as Axl had already started production someone needed to foot the bill. Universal issued a statement that "Since Mr. Rose has exhausted all economic resources available to the band by the label, and gone above and beyond in his eccentricities which include the hiring of A-list Hollywood directors for grand scale music video shoots in Africa that never materialize a product, we have informed 'King Dick' that we're cutting him off. We don't look throwing our money down the toilet." Furious, Axl set out on a Chinese Democracy World Tour to drum up some cash. However, after only three shows....
#1066 Re: Guns N' Roses » Question About Universals Best Selling Artists? » 904 weeks ago
You're right, I was typing that really fast. I usually tend to think of the Illusions as one big double album, but sales wise it is two. So three proper albums and a couple EPs for measure.

As a journalist myself, I think I'm entitled to my opinion of Wall's poor ethics and subpar writing skills. The fact that I share my opinion only after supporting him by purchasing his book only further legitimizes what I have to say.

I've had the man's back for a long time now. Good to see him taking it home. Barack Obama will be president.
#1069 Re: The Garden » The never ending GN'R CD Rumour game » 904 weeks ago
Frustrated by this latest Adler lawsuit, Axl was regularly getting high in the studio to mellow out. One night he decided he and Robin should take a road trip to find a White Castle. What happened next was one of the most shocking tales of carnage ever seen....

Mick Wall is a fuckhead. The more I read his new book, the more I despise him. He needs to stop riding Axl's balls to the bank because he's a shit journalism who got name dropped in a song almost 20 years ago.
