Thanks!......errrr, I think? 14

You did a good job man.  Think you could do one of Slash taking a whizz on Santa or something like that for my thread?  16

By all rights it should be Izzy taking the whiz on Santa shouldn't it?  Maybe standing in the aisle on the sleigh or something.

what about the montreal riot...how'd that go down? maybe hes blended the 2 together in his mind hmm or a different riot? how many riots did they get involved in back then hmm

but you can clearly see slash at one point looking in the crowd and the music defiantely stops playing while Axl fights the guy, so yeah you're right...but like i said maybe he combined 2 incidents into one in his brain 19

That's exactly what I was thinking as I read it in the book.  I know there is some video footage out there somewhere (doesn't mean enough to me for me to look for it) where Axl walks off stage or jumps into the crowd or something, and the band vamps for a while to try to save it.  Sometimes Axl comes back, sometimes he doesn't.

Hell. I know it's happened with friends of mine and I when we're talking about something that happened years ago and two or more people remember events slightly differently or combine what happened a couple different times into one story.  I think that happens alot, even with people who haven't done a shitload of heroin.

Hey, give her a break.  She's at least a lot cuter than Tony Snow.

That's gotta count for something... Right...?

Seriously though, Wow.

#1065 Re: Guns N' Roses » HOOKERS N' BLOW News » 915 weeks ago

This seems like as good a place as any to put this, just logged into myspace and saw this from Dizzy:

PLEASE ADD my new music page. Check it out to hear a bunch of my NEW TUNES and get updates on all the goings on with myself and ALL of my swell bands including Hookers & Blow, Starfuckers, The Howl at the Moon Hookers & Blow (featting RCN Drummer of the year Ron Whitaker!!), Rockers and Jaw Droppers, The Haptones AND GnR, while I phase out my boring personal page!! I love you all and thanks for your support over the years and all the spam too, of course!

There's three songs on there at the moment if anybody's interested in hearing it.

#1066 Re: The Garden » Steelers' DB GUARANTEES Upset of New England » 915 weeks ago

I'm a little late on this one, but did anybody else hear the audio from the actual interview where he made the guarantee.  He was kinda goaded into it.

He was basically saying, "I think we can win".  Then the interviewer said "Is that a guarantee?", or something like that.  He was sorta laughing as he said, Sure, that's a guarantee.

It still takes balls to say it out loud, but he was joking more than he was being pompous.  Which isn't how it is/was being reported for the most part.

Very true Jorge. Tommy's career was resurrected by Axl. He got his Perfect album out, his solo record, songs in movies and soundtracks, etc. Now, I just wish he would squeeze an album in with Westerberg while he is sitting on his ass waiting for Axl. Tommy seems very loyal so I don't think he will quit until the chinese democracy sessions are released.:mosh:

Right, I don't want to sound like I'm talking shit, because I do think all of these guys are talented, but I wouldn't have heard of most of them if they weren't involved in this.

It sounds like an insult to say they're doing it for a paycheck, but frankly, most of them would probably be working straight jobs and doing music in their free time like the rest of us if it weren't for being with GNR.  Hell, a good chunk of them have admitted to not really being fans of the old band before this, that should say alot.

As good as Tommy is, he'd probably be selling insurance, gigging on weekends, and waiting on Westerberg without this.

There's no doubt in my mind I'd have never heard of Bumblefoot, and I could keep going that way for most of the current band.

few things are more annyoing that a pitty party for a bunch of grownup men who made their own decision and entered into to a contract that has, to date, offered them lots of money and acclaim while still offering the oppurtunity to do their solo work in down times. those poor babies.

Not to be a dick, but we have no idea how much money any of these guys pull in from their tenor in GNR. And I don't know anyone outside of these boards who even know who's in the band so I don't see what acclaim they might be getting.

Having said that, I do agree with your point about not feeling bad for them. They chose this, there are all sorts of ways out of it if any of them see the need to be done with it.

i don't think you are bing a dick. you are right that we do not know much money the guys are making but you can speculate that it is more than they would be if they were not in gnr and more than any of us so, again, no need to cry for them. as far as acclaim, no they are not worlwide super stars atleast not until the album gets released and even then who knows. but, again, more acclaim than if they were not in gnr and they all seem to be doing pretty well with their solo careers since joining gnr.

Exactly.  How many extra copies of Tommy's solo album did he sell just by being able to say he's in GNR.  Even if it was only just 1,000, that's a pretty descent extra amount for a small release like that.  Given, the Mat's do have a big cult/critical following, but that only does so much.  Plus, I'll bet the extra money that he has coming in from a GNR paycheck helped him have the freedom to get it done.

As intriguing as Cornell grouped with ex GNR members sounds, its never going to happen.

If Slash really does a guest star solo album, one can only hope Cornell & Patton lend a hand. Who knows what Cornell thinks of Slash from their touring days. The screwing inflatable dolls onstage bit could either be a fond memory or a lifelong deal breaker. 14

If Cornell would never happen, Patton would by never times 10,000.  All Patton's really done in the time since they toured together is bash GN'R.

That said, I'd love to see it happen.  I'm just a little short of being one of those people who think whatever Patton touches turns to gold, the man's a genius.  So I'd love to see it....  but it's probably not gonna happen.
