dumbest decision so far is replacing may solos by finck/bumble, 2 inferiour wankers in mah opinion big_smile

may is way too nice, but then again if he really told what he felt, im sure the gnr camp would rip him like they are used to.

all this band needs is bucket and fortus, sack the rest of pretenders...then we got something.

Eh, fortus is irrelevant to chinese democracy. All the songs were written before he joined and he much less contributions that even Bumblefoot who joined 4 years later.

Rose, Freese, Buckethead, Stinson and Huge are the 5-man core of the band on the album, like Guns N'Roses always was - 5 guys. Dizzy and Chris add an extra depth to songwriting and the music. The extra guitarists added bits here and there.

Brian May should be insulted his solo on Catcher In The Rye is amazing and I'm not even a Queen fan/

Sorry gets better and better - the chorus was stuck in my head after the first listen even with the skipping. By far the best song from this new band in my opinion, and the only one that I would list as one my fav gnr songs of all time. I'm annoyed that the first time i listened to it was with all that skipping and the second time with all that AIM shit. Can't wait for a proper version. Co-written with Buckethead who also contributes an awesome solo. Legendary guitarist.:buckethead:

I dunno if its specifically about  Slash - I'd imagine most of the songs are very general and about all those people who have pissed him off - although he may have had Slash in mind. "Don't owe you a damn thing" sounds like something he might say to the fans. "I won't let you in" sounds like something he might say to Slash."

It seems from the booklet the song was originally titled sorry for you.

The only annoying thing about the song is the way he sings "but I don't want to do it" in the first verse. WTF? Maybe he's trying to sound vulnerable I don't know.

Axl does thank Jarmo in the liner notes, i can see it before he thanks george chin

Ah see that now, post edited.

Seems george chin was thanked twice also

Anyone notice Doug Goldstein is thanked twice in Axl's list but no thanks for Merck! Or Tom Zutaut. Wonder if Mysteron is in there under his real name?  As for formula 1's Kimi Raikkonnen - wtf? lol

The fact that Buckethead got a chance to thank people and the fact he thanked Axl and Gnr shows he was at least consulted about the album release and suggests relations have improved.

Can't believe how much work BBF did - it means nearly every song was worked on in the last two years. I still prefer Brian May's work on Catcher. It suits the song perfect. Axl and Pitman both said he was the best guitarist ever so it seems an insult to take him off.

James Lofton's thoughts on Huge and Fortus came to mind as soon as I saw the liner notes so not surprised to see you mention it.

Some of the credits are funny (Axl's vocals produced by Axl!!).

Surprised its BH not Finck doing the solo on If The World - i was sure that was Finck - my ear isn't as good as i thought. Wasn't the outro solo of the Blues originally played by Fortus even in 2002? Correct me if im wrong on that.

That was some of my initial observations.

I think the artwork is ok, pictures of each member - I really wasn't expecting anything amazing - a picture of the band would be nice but it seems Axl considers 11 people to be in the Chinese Democracy band (judging by who got to say thank you).

Godwin's Law is alive and well.

What I find interesting about this site, is that there is no censorship, people can talk, discuss, argue about anything, and yet its also the calmest, most unagressive site. For all HTGTH's censorship and trying to get rid of what they call non-fans; there is still loads of arguments, disputes, insults and cyber-hatred (most recently among two of its most respected members Mysteron and Fernando). Not Jarmo's fault of course, he probably imagined that by getting rid of negativity, he would create an atmosphere like this site has; but that didn't happen.  Instead, you'd see Jarmo and the mods and Jim Bob vs all VR fans, making every single VR/Slash thread completely predictable. I suppose HTGTH being the largest site also makes it difficult for them to control this stuff.

This site allows anyone to talk about anything yet there are very few insults, or neverending disputes or grudges or any of the crap stuff you see elsewhere. Amazing forum!!

Sorry and This I love are phenomenal in my opinion.....I have to say though...This I love needs Slash on the solo. It is a good solo but the song is tailor made for Slash.

I'm not saying this to be controversial - when I listened to This I Love I thought the solo sounded familiar - I was thinking Pink Floyd, no! Led Zeppelin, no! Then I realised it reminded me of Slash's solo in the Elan song Street Child - the way the bends are played. The significance of it being Slash as supposed to any other random guitarist took a couple of seconds to dawn on me. Then I remembered this song is from the Use Your Illusion era. This was before I read the above post or any reference to Slash - in fact I posted about this on MyGnr a few hours ago when I couldn't connect to this site.

I'll bet any money that solo is a Robin Finck re-recording of a Slash solo. Axl didn't want Slash on the record but liked the solo so he asked Robin Finck to re-record it (like BH re-recorded Brian May and Brain re-recorded Josh Freese, plenty of other examples I'm sure) with his own feel (you can hear a couple of Finck trademarks). Interesting to hear what Slash will have to say about this song.

Maybe bach was thinking of Scraped not Sorry, scraped has very heavy doom-metal like guitars, although the vocals aren't

I like BH, but the new solo on CITR is nowhere near as good as Brian May's. What is the point in getting in the guitarist Axl thinks is the best in the world and then replacing his parts? The outro is a different guitarist too. Thankfully, we still have the original leak to listen to the solo, although the rest of the song is better now.

Sorry is horrible quality but sounds like an amazing song - could be my favourite of all the songs - what a solo - as for bach hes not on the song I don't think.

According to this post on htgth:

Axl opened november rain with one of the new songs in 2006. Which song? The first couple of notes sound like Prostitute but not convincing really.
