^^^^^^^ was just gonna bring izzy up. to me, both buckethead and slash are better suited to add riffs and solos to pre-existing gnr songs. axl can't write guitar based songs.

slash, izzy, and axl equaled gnr magic

buckethead, izzy, and axl could have equaled new gnr magic.

axl was still pissed off at slash when he came to his house. then slash went and denied going there (lied). I think that was the straw that broke the camel's back for axl.  im not blaming slash. axl is like a woman i once knew. after she dumped me for a mistake i made, i kissed her ass for over a year straight and only made the smallest measure of progress. then we started dating again and as soon as i sneezed in her direction she went back to her version of team brazil, the ones that feed her narcicism and alcoholism. if axl is an alcoholic that plays a huge roll in his ideals and how he feels about anything and everything, including relationships. alcoholics are never wrong. if axl did not own the gnr brand hed be on board. if axl wasn't an alcoholic or knew how to forgive people adn move on from things hed be on board.

it was my understanding that the label wouldn't release what he had in 2001/2002.

they didn't wnt a gnr/industrial album and axl didnt have 14 rock songs recorded is my guess.

Yeah bottom line is it's a great night out.

I mean I revere the old band as much as anyone, and I love Slash's work and so on.

But if you take a step back from the politics...

I got front row, was like 1 metre away from Axl Rose at times. DJ and Bumble recognised me from the pre-show and handed me some Jaggermister from the stage. Band played some of my favourite songs of all time, and as a night out it's hard to fault in that sense.

I mean we all want new music, and not everyone wants this line up and so on, but on face value for what it is, it's killer fun too.

and it's a great way to stay in shape.

i think most agree with you buzz, that new studio music wouldn't change the status of gnr's popularity but gnr has a pretty good size following, worthy of stregnthening. the fact that they are still able to tour decent size venues across a decent amount of the world with how things have gone since 2008 is testament to that. the band is kicking all kinds of ass. axl doesnt need to release new music to maintain his fan base and even stregnthen it. but it would certainly help if he did. otherwise or in addition to new music, he should take advantage of the band he has assembled and get his live act together as far as his singing goes, throw in a few new songs once in a while, cater the set list to avoid his vocal inadequecies if they remain, along with doing all the things, anyone who knows how the voice works understands that, he can't possibly be doing what he could be doing to sing better. be a professional live act or be an artist. people either love or hate him and the ones who love him can't seem to turn their backs on him completely. but a lot of us can't afford or justify affording to go see the same show every couple years with a declining performance of a frontman who alone represents the gnr legacy.

I'm with D. This is absurd. if you want to be a touring act, parading around without the band that helped you get to where you are and not release music or play new songs.
atleast be worthy of your own invidual musical contribution to the songs as the lead singer. if you want to be a live act then perform like it. dude sounds terrible.
an hour a day of vocal exercises for 4 weeks before the tour would allow him to sing like 2006 MINIMUM.

Since Slash is going to play for about the same crowd here in Budapest than Axl and his band did 7 years, I see absolutely not much interest for Slash to go back playing as an employee of a psycho frontman who can't sing anymore, when he can captain a ship of the similiar size.

We fans like to see our idols as they once were. Then we're shocked seeing new footage and some are looking for excuses. Face it, this is the Axl Rose of today, and this is the Axl Rose of the last 15 years, minus the year 2006. Universal always met this bloated, out-of-shape Axl Rose, or an even worse, hysterical bloated out-of-shape, out-of-mind Axl Rose. He's a has-been. Sorry to say it, but he is. Never thought this day would come. Didn't realize this when happened, a long time ago.

You've been saying this exact same thing for Y-E-A-RS. 16

And Slash is playing with a skinny, sane front man who never could sing tongue

No, not really. I've never called Axl a has-been, but time has come to realize this (a long time ago). It's also the first time when Slash's growing crowd is about the same size as GN'R's vaining audience.

Glad that you agreed with my points, so rather chose to attack Myles to hijack the thread.

in misterid's defense I think his point is not to highjack but to point at that slash plus a legend who is out of his prime not only offers more to the ears but would draw a much bigger crowd than slash plus a never was talent does now.

Am I the only one here that can be totally objective and pick zeppelin even though gnr IS my favorite band?

what's the poll, favorite band or best band?

zeppelin accomplished more for sure but I listen to gnr more often.
