As Gn'R fans and for those of you who really liked CD why would any of you be more interested in a US tour than a new album? Or do you just mean more excited for it because you felt it was more likley to happen? Cause honestly if it ment they continued to put out albums I'd trade touring for albums from any band I like.
Given the choice, I'd much rather have CD pt 2 & 3 than a US tour. But is it too much to expect both a new album and tour? Oh yeah, nevermind, this is the Axl Rose Show we're talking about.

I bought the CD when it first came out, but I've probably never even put the disc in a player. Of course I downloaded every single leak as well as the final retail release leaked onto the net, and I still listen to it occasionally on my iPod. But I usually try to buy the CD anyway to support my favorite bands, and I honestly do think it is a great album and holds up quite well even after repeated listenings. Just my opinion - you're welcome to disagree!

If they do a US tour they should do it in style and do what Slash just did. Small venues and rock the shit out of them.
That would be a smart move - rather than play to half full arenas, play a two or three week tour of smaller theaters that are guaranteed to sell out, then blow the lid off the place. Word of mouth will ramp up demand and then they can come back through a few months later and play the larger venues again.
Even smarter would be if they actually had a new album out to promote.
#104 Re: Guns N' Roses » AXL ROSE KICKS THE BUCKET! » 767 weeks ago
I don't think anyone should read much into this - someone in the crowd threw a KFC bucket on stage, and Axl just played along and wore it on his head and then kicked it back out into the crowd. It's not like he stopped the song and stomped on it or something.

We all know MSL is a master bullshitter, but he does deliver. If he's putting some fake clips out there to flush out something better, then I can handle that.

I tip my hat to MSL again, and I don't have any problem stroking his ego if it gets me some new unreleased GNR. I'm sure that MSL's master plan is to get this information out there to try to get some of the underground hoarders to come out of hiding and share some of the real good stuff, like The General or Checkmate. I honestly believe that if we don't get any more leaks, we'll never get Chinese Democracy pt2.

One of the most empowering things about GN'R is that alot of males, specifically white males, felt GN'R spoke for them and how they felt.
What was denigration to women, was empowering for men, they were taking their role back in It's So Easy.
One In A Million is probably the most interesting GN'R tune to break down on that level. There's nothing racist about that song, and never was. Even though Axl was just being an artist and was misconstrued all the way around, alot of people saw that song as seeing the world through a white man's eyes in 1987-89. The white experience. Was Axl, the character confused, yes, but so are alot of people. You fear what you don't understand, and there's tons of ignorance, totally warranted in that song. How do you understand the gay orientation if you yourself are not gay, or at least bi? How do you, as a natural born white American see the country the same way an immigrant Arab will? How does a white man who fills taxed to death to pay for the poor feel when a black man steals his stereo or tries to sell him a stolen gold watch from another white man? How does the black thief feel who might be a thief to feed two kids at home? How does a non-religious man integrate into a racist, hateful white Christian religion?
There's so much shit going on in One In A Million. And that's just that song. There's tons of others in the back catalog and even CD. Thx Axl.
Always been the ace up Axl's sleeve in the legacy of GN'R. The man sometimes can bring the deepest fucking shit out of you and make you confront it.
For the longest time, I thought I was the only one who understood that song! To me, it's quite simple: this is how Axl felt when he was a naive young kid straight off the turnip truck from Indiana, trying to adjust to life in the big city with all these strange people he's never had contact with before. He certainly didn't pull any punches, but because he used the "N" word everyone just labeled him a racist without really reading into the song. And to his credit, at the time Axl didn't back down or apologize for the song.

Biased or not, it's interesting to read his take on everything like how he pretty much confirms that Azoff put out CD only to get it out of the way so he could orchestrate a reunion tour. And how Live Like A Suicide was a fake indie release only to build street cred for the band.

Well I hope he's successful. We need some new GNR leaks to give Axl a kick in the ass otherwise we will never hear CD pt2.

I could stand on stage with Adolph Hitler and Osama Bin Laden for the amount that VH got paid.
