I don't know any Maden - whats a good album to get into them with?

While Number of the Beast and Powerslave (Backslash recommendations) are great albums and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (AtariLegend's pick from which the single "Can I Play With Madness?" comes from) is decent too these fail in comparison to Maiden's best album...Piece of Mind.  Piece of Mind is the album Maiden released when they were at the top of their game and they have never/nor likely will ever top it.

With that said this is still NOT the album I would recommend for a person who is new to Maiden and would like to give them a listen.  I would recommend 2002's "Edward the Great" which is basically a greatest hits package.  While I always feel noone ever gets the right list of songs for a greatest hits together, this one is definitely decent.   Here is the tracklist:

1.Run To The Hills
2. The Number Of The Beast
3. Flight Of Icarus
4. The Trooper
5. 2 Minutes To Midnight
6. Wasted Years '99
7. Can I Play With Madness
8. The Evil That Men Do
9. The Clairvoyant
10. Infinite Dreams
11. Holy Smoke
12. Bring Your Daughter...To The Slaughter
13. Man On The Edge
14. Futureal
15. The Wicker Man
16. Fear Of The Dark (Live)

You can pick this up used at Amazon for less than five bucks.  If you prefer something even better, then get "A Real Live One" and "A Real Dead One".  These two cds together would really give you the ultimate sampling of this band's work.

Here's the link for Edward the Great and it includes samples of each song listed to give you a taste of the album before you order it!  Hope this helps.          5

Contractor, owner feud over hidden cash Wed Dec 12, 10:42 PM ET

CLEVELAND - A contractor who helped discover bundles of Depression-era U.S. currency totaling $182,000 hidden behind bathroom walls said the homeowner should turn the money over to him or at least share it.

Bob Kitts said his feud with the owner of the 83-year house, a former high school classmate, has deteriorated to the point where they speak to each other only through lawyers.

Kitts said his lawyer has drafted a lawsuit that he hopes will force Amanda Reece to turn over the money she has kept.

Most of the currency, issued in 1927 and 1929, is in good condition, and some of the bills are so rare that one currency appraiser valued the treasure at up to $500,000, Kitts said.

Reece accuses Kitts of extortion.

The fight began in May 2006 when Kitts was gutting Reece's bathroom and found a box below the medicine cabinet that contained $25,200.

"I almost passed out," Kitts recalled. "It was the ultimate contractor fantasy."

He called Reece, who rushed home. Together they found another steel box tied to the end of a wire nailed to a stud. Inside was more than $100,000, Kitts said. Two more boxes were filled with a mix of money and religious memorabilia.

"It was insane," Kitts said. "She was in shock '” she was a wreck."

The bundles had "P. Dunne" written on them, a likely reference to Peter Dunne, a businessman who owned the home during the Depression.

Kitts said he took some of the currency for an appraisal and learned that many of the $10 bills were rare 1929-series Cleveland Federal Reserve bank notes, worth about $85 each. There also were $500 bills and one $1,000 bill.

John Chambers, an attorney for Reece, said Kitts rejected his client's offer of a 10 percent finder's fee and demanded 40 percent of the small fortune.

Reece has no intention of backing down in the face of what she considers a shakedown, Chambers said.

Kitts asserts he found lost money, and court rulings in Ohio establish that a "finders keepers" law applies if there's no reason to believe any owner will reappear to claim it.

It may be up to a judge to decide, said Heidi Robertson, a professor who teaches property law at Cleveland State University.

Kitts said it would be unfair for him to take everything.

"For such a happy, exciting adventure, I can't believe it just went to heck like this," he said.

Greedy bastards!  These guys could share it (which is probably the best thing to do considering it would have did neither of them any good if the contractor hadn't found it) and be 1/4 million richer for Xmas instead of screwing up a friendship.

Given the crazy shit that has been going down at our educational institutions recently I can understand why she would freak like this.  I live in a community where a large percent of families have personal ties with Virginia Tech so I can tell you first hand this kind of shit alters the landscape of reason.  Everyone is a little more jumpy than they were "before".   The malls, schools, even churches...paranoia is an understandable product.   "You're gonna die" and "baby" is probably all she heard.

#1096 Re: The Sunset Strip » Halloween 6 Producer's Cut...to be released!? » 915 weeks ago

Although I agree that H6 was a mess regardless of which version you watched the fact is LOTS of people over the past decade have bought this rare cut and it continously moves well.  Halloween forums, ebay, etc, have moved thousands over the years.  Now that Rob Zombie's Halloween reincarnation has got interest up again I think this dvd would do moderately well especially if it were packaged with the theatrical cut which has been deleted for some time.  Easy money in my opinion.

You did a good job man.  Think you could do one of Slash taking a whizz on Santa or something like that for my thread?  16

By all rights it should be Izzy taking the whiz on Santa shouldn't it?  Maybe standing in the aisle on the sleigh or something.

LOL, no doubt man.  Works for me.

There are some naysayers when it comes to Baz but who cares?  Yes he can be a tool and an Axl suck but bottom line is the album is good.  Weiland gets the same shit.  No VR is NOT as good as STP and No Baz isn't as good as vintage Skid Row, BUT the music is still better than 90% of the other garbage calling itself 'rock'...put that in your peace pipe and smoke it!

Fight club was surprisingly good.  I am not a fan of Pitt's (bastard's bangin' MY woman 4 ) but this movie and 12 Monkeys and Se7en (as PaSnow mentioned previously) are very good performances in good movies.
