I think Poison was a major tour though wasn't it? Like bigger than the rooms his solo shows play? Be awesome if it was GNR - and would make sence with a november release wouldn't it!

Bigger then what Baz can fill yes, but "major" no, not by any stretch.

Wether you like Poison or not.  Their albums tank but for some reason when they tour it is very successful.

If it is released in November.

Most fans don't want an "Us against Them" attitude. We love Axl and the new Guns. We want to hear the music. Love the music. See them succeed, and enjoy the fruits of their labor. A beautiful marriage of fans & the band they love. Like music should be.

Cogill buys into this Beta/Del mentality, but on the opposite side of the fence. They fuel the war, as does guys like Cogill on the other side of this fans vs. GN'R. And frankly, I don't need your Civil War.

Of course I'd much rather have it where Axl appreciates his fans and we could encourage him.  I wantot encourage him.  But how can we do that when he sees us as the ennemy no matter what.  By doing this it pisses off the fans and all shit hit the fan.  I thought Azoff would be able to repair the bridge but thus far the bridge has been burned more and more.

It's a sad situation for him but it was simply DUMB!  I have posted well over a hundred links to GNR demos in my thread but NONE of them are official because I know better.  We may not like the rules but at the end of the day the leaks and official released material is Axl and the band's copyrighted work...not ours.  I was glad to hear the music but I will never start some "look at me" thread and start posting leaks.  Stupid actions like that will ALWAYS get you in deep shit.

I agree that he did do it a=in a manner to have all the spotlight and glory he could have.  How he got those leaks though s what I'd like to know.  Did he really steal them?

I know you don't want me to refer to Axl's open letter, but he talks about the reason for the lack of updates.  I know, I know, he promised updates if there were any problems, I get that.  But again,

"For much of the time, various legal issues have arisen, demanding that the best way to deal with these things publicly, quite frankly, was to keep our mouths shut in an attempt to ensure the best outcome -- especially one that wouldn't jeopardize the band or the album."

I can totally see your side of things and why so many people are pissed at Axl's actions or lack thereof over the years, but I can't emphasize enough that we don't know what's going on or what has gone on behind closed doors.  Maybe there's a reason we've been kept in the dark, I don't know, you don't know, nobody knows.  As for Axl giving hints like, "you will hear music this year".  Maybe he was just stringing us along with no intention of releasing anything, it's possible.  I'd like to think though that it's also possible that he had every intention of getting this thing out YEARS ago, but for reasons unknown to us, that hasn't happened.  I guess he could've given a "No comment" type of statement, but do you really think that would've made anyone any happier?  Axl has turned a lot of people off over the years and I don't think there's any winning them back.  That's their right, if people feel hurt or offended by Axl Rose, then so be it.  I don't share that view.  Apparently I'm a lot more forgiving than lots of people.  I've enjoyed GNR for about 16 years now, and that will continue whether we get a new album or not.

You're free to refer to that letter Faldor.  It's called freedomo of speech.  *lol*  Let's just agree to disagree cause we'll debate till we're both blue in the face.  *lol*  I can appreciate your point of view but I don't agree with it.  Just so we're clear.  I wanna root for Axl.  Even in this lawsuit with Skwerl, I wanna root for Axl.  But I don't cause the material leaked is something we will NEVER get to hear otherwise.  If Axl had announced a release date and actually stuck to it I'd have a different stance.

Wow. Copies of the album are in circulation. That's much more interesting than tirades against Slash.

That is if what he heard weren't the leaks we already got.

Yeah I'll try and still tape it.  Although MTV replays the thing all month long so not sure how important it is to tape.  But it'll be cool to see Slash present at the very least.  I don't plan on enjoying much more than that though.

I always try to watch it live no matter how much it may suck. MTV always has to end up censoring something or other for the replays.

If you are able to watch the MTV awards then my respect for you has increased yet again Russ.  I haven't watched since 2003.  Made me want to puke.  It made me realise that the music industry has gone so bad it may never recover.  I haven't heard of a new band or artist that was at least decent in ages.
