I never heard anything about that design except it was pretty famous in europe for the 2006 tour, then it disapeared. This was the logo that appeared in British newspapers out the blue announcing 2006 UK tour dates, it was on a friday. And most of the tickets sold out that day btw big_smile

Also Download Festival had been confirmed for a wee while before hand now I think on it.

we only found out there was a problem with it during the Axl chats december 2008 where he pointed out they'd been sued over some "Murky Merckness" combining the logos, or some shit like that.

Aye thats one of the main thing that interests me, Axl will surely release his grip on some of this stuff if he's back on good terms with the old boys. He's not daft, he must know some of the old performances are pure gold, a few properly produced live releases would bring in some serious coin, plus it would benefit his legacy. If he's willing to bury the hatchet with Slash after all his years of resentment surely anything is possible? Especially at this stage of his career, this is his last hurrah, why not go out with a bang and let the floodgates open?

I see GN'R facebook posted the 2006 logo that got them sued for combining Slash's design with the new one.

It has the caption "Oh, my salvation… Oh, my frustrations…"  I know GN'Rs online crew post a lot of drivel, but they did get sued for using this and they had to stop using it, so maybe it does have some backhanded meaning.

This is good as well, Axl's ripping it out at the end. Pity they never played it on the Paris ppv.

My favourite live version of Estranged, it's a shame its such a jumpy audio, dunno if Axl's been better live on this song.

Any better performances post 'em up!

#117 Re: Guns N' Roses » How much of the board actually believes a reunion will happen? » 499 weeks ago

I'm a bit out the loop but heres my thoughts. Did I dream or does anyone else remember some point recently, before all this reunion hullabaloo, that Richard was talking about how some Slash era material was still kicking around the nu GNR era recordings?
Also what was the rumour about the next GN'R album being simply called "Guns N'Roses", was that from the MSL memory stick period of rumours? I cant remember.
It would be pretty cool if the next release was a mixture of everyone who's played a part in GN'R, its the only way Axl can move on from the CD era and keep some kind of credibility if Slash and co are back on the scene, maybe its the only way he can release the best of CD2 and have maximum impact cause he knows it'll be a damp squib if he ever tries another re-vamped GNR release like CD2 with just the modern line up, the interest just isnt there now, the mystery is gone.
A release with the best of everything from 93 till just simply called Guns N'Roses would be pretty bold, and to me the only way he can keep some kind of credibility to what he's done since 93, maybe even shift a few extra CD sales.
I remember before CD was released folk were saying Paul Huge would be gone, Buckethead would be gone... but Axl kept everybody who ever played on it, he didnt wipe anyone and wanted everyone who made an effort included, fuck even jarmo got a mention.
I really would'nt be suprised if the next move is a release with everybody who's had a significant role in GN'R involved, makes a lot of sense to me at least, I'm no even that drunk.
All the best troops, glad the forums kicking again 5

PS didnt he say he would have been happier with the RIR HOF induction if everyone was involved?

#118 Re: Guns N' Roses » DJ has left GNR » 512 weeks ago

What? A wannabe media darling and shameless whore for the spotlight? Haha that Axl fella is funny! He pulled a off a belter when he uncovered this priceless Slash parody. What a jester this this Axl fella is, wish I'd got the joke earlier, I'd have laughed longer and harder at DJ much sooner than I did axl

#119 Re: The Sunset Strip » The Video Game Console Thread » 512 weeks ago

By the way James Loften... I was away from video games from 2006 till about 2011-12ish, I had no intention of upgrading from PS2 to PS3... I'd got older...but in the end I took the jump out of boredom , and the system was pretty old and the games were old, but it was well worth it, there really is some great games out there, dive in to the PS3 era, its going cheap and its not disappointing  smile

Aye that would surely be  a mega selling point, dunno why they avoid it. I'd love to replay the Onimusha games, oh wait you can, just re-buy them... bollocks.
