#111 Re: Guns N' Roses » 101 Document Titles From Axls Laptop (No Actual Documents Tho) » 806 weeks ago

I never said Sic just "copied and pasted" the stuff. Compiling and editing that stuff is serious work and I've always admired this site for it.

I was merely saying, how can anyone on this board decry the leaking of information pertaining to the album when Chinese Whispers is basically the crown jewel of this website?

MSL is no saint, whether he's telling the truth or not -- but if he writes a book or publishes a story, I'm buying it.

We might have low opinions of Mick Wall, but we still read whatever he says about Axl to this day, while at the same time cursing him.

1 -- had those emails been leaked to a magazine or blog like Antiquiet, that dirt would've ended up in Chinese Whispers, anyway. While this site might have the best collection to date of the story, it is by no means complete or definitive.

Assuming all this is true, how would this information be any more dirty than Piazza sending out IRS, recording music from strip clubs, or any other forms of leakage of fact or music over the years?

2 -- I'm not defending the actions of a hacker or anyone looking to profit off of an invasion of privacy, and I'm not even gonna be one of those "Well, if Axl had just acted like a NORMAL band, none of this would've happened" posters. But if this supposed (assuming this is real) trove of documents reveals how/why/when members left the band, under what circumstances, provides clues as to creative processes, details as to the behind-the-scenes dealings, etc, then this is no morally or ethically different than any anonymous source.

Think of all the information regarding Azoff, Best Buy, Merck, Finck, etc that we have learned over the years. You think Axl just gave that information up? No, it was leaked by someone who shouldn't have done it, most likely.

And without that back story, intrigue, and narrative, very few of us would have stuck around over the years. So get over yourselves. Seriously.

3 -- as much as it sucks, Ashba's mainstream success over the years with Sixx AM and others would dictate the value of his time, so no surprise if he's the highest paid player. At least he's the most visible, active, and good for PR that they have. Bumble is probably getting shafted, though.

I wouldn't blame them for doing exactly what Axl says Bucket did and jump ship once their exposure peaks.

To people pretending they're not interested in dirt, you're lying to us and to yourselves. The only reason there was the mythical interest in Chinese was BECAUSE of the dirt surrounding it. Stop acting self-righteous.

Msl never made any demands - he just said he'd divulge already cancelled plans if they didn't materialize. That's not an ultimatum. He's only said he'd leak the songs if something happened to him legally or physically.

The biggest question here is if MSL would have legal protections similar to a journalist for reporting the info in book/blog form. These same questions are being raised when it comes to wikileaks. If the NYT or Antiquiet got emails and documents to tell a story, without verbatim leaking intellectual property, would they be prosecuted? Unlikely. Its called freedom of the press, and I applies to music blogs as much as govt watchdogs.

Kaneda (dr pepper guy from way back) is apparently claiming that the PPT is real on mygnr.

Also, bumble and DJs twitters are down according to my gnr.

I'm on a break at work on my blackberry, but this is for those not allowed on mygnr.

Edit - sorry, the twitter accts are still active. That's what I get for believing mygnr.

Axlin- thanks for the welcome. smile I'm still on here, I come by, I just don't post much. I'm what you could call a fangirl, so stuff like this has me going "omgomgomg* inside.

Hunter- Being a stripclub wouldn't stop me from going for one hot second. And, according to Jarmo at HTGTH, he says it's fake. I guess I'll have to wait to see. That's Superbowl weekend, and Dallas is likely going to be a madhouse because of it.

You said you're 4 hrs from Dallas? You around Houston?

Mistersaintlaurent.com is not down, so we can all but rule out legal action. If anything, Eric shut it down for a bit. No point to deleting threads, as they'll just pop back up. Eric will do whatever Axl asks, within reason. I'm on my phone, so I can't check - is the original vid still up?

Of course, could just be hosting issues, a DDOS, or something else.

In the video he says that the memory card was sent to him anonymously. I smell BS.

Any chance these could just be plans that have already been abandoned?

This sucks. You might pass judgment on the show because its set in a high school, but its actually one of the most clever, best written shows on TV.

Personally, I fast forward my DVR through the music, because I have next to zero interest in it, but the show around it is great.

I'm a huge Gleek, and it gets a bad rap because most of its fans are gays and high schoolers, but it's a very well done show. Sue Sylvester is the best villain since Al Swearingen on Deadwood.
