obviously, if you haven't been to a show or watched the vids very little has been done to earn your respect by the band when there is no new material to hang your hat on.

never the less...............

the reason for this IS.... the original band.

or atleast......... the last remaining piece of it.

========== Axl Rose===============

it's kind of ironic. the one remaining original member provides any and all remaining significance to gnr..

while

at the same time he continues to hold back the band that is called gnr from acting as such.

I think axl had in his head ten years ago that he was gonna get back at slash and co. by moving gnr forward. when that didn't go as expected the drive disappeared. I just don't think he has much to write about any more as far as lyrics. It's almost the same situation with the band name. While keeping it he's forced into certain things, and with any future releases that IMO includes writing music that the fans want in order to get the necessary support from the label. You take a hungry and angry 18 year old axl and you get what he did on appetite/lies/illusions. you take a 50 year old spoiled brat with full control of the gnr name and what is there left to write about? what is there left to say in your music? i doubt he's lost the ability to write good music or melodies though. i've said this before and i'll say it again: if axl wants to become a legitimate artist and release new music that people will care about he needs to change to a more mellow bluesy sound, drop pittman and two guitar players, and release it as axl rose. he's just not about what made him relevant any more. he needs to completely reinvent himself or stop trying to be what he once was.

has either side clarified whether or not axl actually turned slash away or talked to him?

reason i ask is that gnr's statement says slash called out duff, matt, and scott in a sober and personal manner.

it defies logic that he would so when talking to a lebeis or security, if sober.

not taking axl's side here but if his slash and duff gave him more time after this rather than suing him i bet progress would have been made.

i can play lead or rhythm guitar and do pittman shit.  mixing and mastering as well although riad may be better at that than me. i guarantee nobody on this board can play slash's material as close to exact as me though. ill put money on that.

I'd like to see Axl collaborate with gnr before india's artists.

both at the same time would be cool too.

I'm not sure what your problem is anymore.  I used to understand you for the most part and even support you, but you've gotten to the point that you're turning yourself into what you're trying to fight being labeled as.  You can do what you want, but taking a step back for a bit might be a good idea...change up your perspective a little bit.

you've changed, buzz. bono is the same old bono we've come to love and ban. lol

Maybe for an artists it's old hat and means nothing but I think iId really enjoy soundchecks. kinda like the calm before the storm. Even when I was a kid playing minor hockey if the games were in my home town I loved being at the rink 3 hours before hand just chilling out. Obviously if we travelled I wasn't able to do that but still.  Crazy that Axl was there

Showing up at the advertised start time for a gnr show offers hours of calm before the storm.

lol
