#1241 Re: Management » hey james, would you cave? » 879 weeks ago

Thanks Tommie for the trancript.

I've lost a lot of respect for Azoff since he became Axl's manager.  I really don't get what the big fuss is all about for SR leaking.  EVERYTHING leaks in music before it is released.  Even Metallica, U2 or any of the big bands are not immuned to this, even The Eagles.  So did Azoff and Axl really think they would be the first to not have their stuff leak?  Come on!  And the silent treatment still goes on.  Many said that if Azoff can't get the album out no one will.  Well it appears that no one will.  To end this all I have to say to Mr. Azoff is that I hope that the money Axl pays you is well worth losing your respect over.

I don't care who plays on this in the sense that no matter who it is, the song is great.  Knowing who plays on this will not determine if I like this song more or less.

#1243 Re: Guns N' Roses » "Chicken Dinner" Shackler's Revenge Leak » 880 weeks ago

I just listened to this new leak.  It's a good choice for a first single for sure.  Along with CD and CITR it is clearly THE BEST new song we've heard thus far.  To me this sounds NOTHING like old GNR and that is a good thing as you wanna move forward not backward.  The downside though is that this to me is not mindblowing nor epic nor earth shattering or anything else like that.  Don't get me wrong it is a GREAT track the best thus far but when I'm listening to this the last thing that comes to my mind is that this will be revolutionizing or that it will change music forever or will blow everyone away like most of the band members have been saying all along about this album.  Other than that it is a great rocker and it while it is better than mostly everything that is out right now, this song ain't the best track from GNR I've heard BUT!  It clearly ain't the worst.   I give this song a 9 out of 10.  Great work Axl and company.

you people have no clue about this tune. it's fucking magnificent! stop bitching and hoping for an afd remake. these new tunes kill afd...

While I respect your opinion.  You my friend need to stop smoking them funny cigarettes.  Nothing from the leaks we got thus far kills AFD and touches AFD.  My 2 favourite songs so far from them leaks is CD and CITR.  As a matter of fact I hope CITR becomes a single as it could become a huge hit.  Better I never got that song.  The intro and outro from the first leak totally killed that song forever as far as I'm concerned.  Axl sounded like a cat that was getting his balls cut off.  Song 2 did nothing for me and it vertainly doesn't kill anything on AFD not even Anything Goes and I think about you.

#1245 Re: Guns N' Roses » New Bumblefoot interview in Classic Rock » 880 weeks ago

That interview was pointless.  Not promising for seeing CD this year but anyone who expects big revelations from anyone in Axl's band is dreaming.  As for Bumble not getting why they are called hired hands.  Well just the fact he can't talk about anything from his said band should be a clear enough answer for him.  But I still don't get why people get pissed that Ron won't say shit and what I get even less is why do fans and or journalists still bother to ask Ron, Dick, Dizzy or Tommy anything related to GNR or should I say Axl.

I took it as 100% when it was announced everywhere a couple weeks ago. I'm not being a smartass, but did I miss something where there's a possibility that it won't?

Just paranoia among the boards.

It's not paranoia Burning Hills.  I remember the Harley add and everything else.  I've come to not expect anything from this band and not believe it until I see it.  It's called being realistic my friend.

James, the back catalog releases are controlled by the label.  The vinyl re-issue is part of a different trend (due to it being on of Universal's top sellers all time), and has nothing to do with Shackler's, CD, etc.  Below:

On July 8, Minnesota-based Best Buy said it was introducing records at select stores in Canada and the United States.

Recently, three entertainment conglomerates -- the Warner Music Group, Universal Music Enterprises and Capitol/EMI -- each announced that come August, they would be reissuing as many as 30 albums each from their back catalogues every month until the end of the year.

I'm not saying AFD has anything to do with Shackler. My point is that every time it looks like something CD related is happening, we get thrown an AFD bone instead.

Maybe at this point AFD is CD.  tongue

Correct, in this instance, the term 'going gold' means going to production.  My guess is we have a leak within two weeks or so?

Again - do not be at all surprised if it happens sooner than that.

Come on guys, you can't honestly expect GNR to use AFD to promote CD.  16

Honestly though, i think a re-release of this has nothing to do with CD or when it's coming.  Period.

Maybe it has nothing to do with the release of CD or maybe it does.  Only time will tell.  But the silent treatment is not a good indicator.  As I said before.  When a band or artist can't tell you what the first single will be, when it's going to come out or even worst can't even tell who is in the band or not.  Then it's kinda hard to convince your fan that you will release an album in the next few months.  Then again Axl seems to be succeeding in convincing a lot of his fans.  It'll be a shame come November or December.

#1250 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses launching iTunes promotion: 'Ides of March' hint? » 881 weeks ago

Arcade I'm not saying you are the most optimistic person here.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  But re re releasing a 21 or 22 year old abum instead of promoting a new album should indicate you that CD is probably nowhere near in sight.  And Axlin08.  You're right.  It is sad that IF Axl ever decides to launch this we won't believe it.  And it is Axl's fault.  Thing is, if they wouldn't have served us wit another dish of silent treatment after the RB2 announcement, MAYBE I would believe that CD might start now.  But they haven't confirmed it is a single, when the single will come out, when the album will come out and even worst of all they can't even confirm who is in the band or not.  And you expect me to believe that CD starts now?  Gimme a fucking break.  IF SR truly ends up in RB2 (I still expect an old song instead in that game) then I think the best we'll have is a scenario similar to the Oh My God scenario.  Nothing indicates me that we'll get anything better than that.  And again it will be Axl's fault, not the fans or management or Finck or anything else even though Axl will put the blame on someone else's shoulders.
