James Lofton wrote:Swung from their nuts as a child, but grew out of it pretty damn quick. Their Unmasked album was in CONSTANT rotation on my record player when I was in first grade, and even though its considered by most fans as their worst album, I actually like it but probably simply for nostalgic reasons rather than the actual album being great.
I could make a hits album of theirs, and it might not even take up a full disc.
Hard Luck Woman
2000 Man
Dr. Love
God of Thunder
Naked City
Tears Are Falling
Lick It Up
Hide Your Heart

UnholyThey have a few other good songs, but that's the cream of my Kiss crop.
Add strutter and that's about all the Kiss I can stand.
EDIT: My GOD! I'm listening to Rain now. That's some cool shit. I'm gonna have to go find me a copy of Carnival.
You could probably find a copy for $5 somewhere. Its always cheap. Some of the best value you can get for little money.
"Hate" is a great opening song on that album. Punches you in the mouth, and set up the rest of the record well.

I, too, think about the whole 'can he stay healthy' argument. He will be 40 this year, coming off surgery, and has a slight tear in his rotator cuff. But then I think, the guy hasnt missed a game since 1992... 199 fucking 2!!

Yeah man, thats "Carnival of Souls". Great album. Its a shame that it just got thrown out there. But it was recorded right before the Reunion, and of course the reunion changed everything. Its an album that will never get the attention it should because of the situation around when it was released. I remember getting a bootleg copy of it on cassette back before it was released, before the Reunion.

KISS needs at least 2 solid discs. Disc 1 would be all 70's, and Disc 2 would be mostly 80's & some 90's. I think that'd be a solid collection. I just don't know what all i'd want on it. Lots of material to choose from.
Damn right! I think the 80s stuff is underrated, and particularly "Revenge" from 92 is way underrated. Thats a damn good hard rock/metal record.

I could make a hits cd, but it would consist of all their cds, except for Unmasked!
I grew up on three bands/artists... KISS, Guns N' Roses, and Elvis Presley. I was introduced to KISS from my earliest memories in the early 80s by my Dad, my Dad showed me the GNR Ritz concert after it aired on MTV, and my Mom had me watching "Elvis on Tour" and "Aloha From Hawaii" religiously. To me, there isnt anything really like those three.
