#131 Re: Guns N' Roses » Song #2 (Prostitute) is the biggest gun of all IMO » 880 weeks ago

I love this song its one of my favourites. Its definitely a grower and the people who haven't listened to it since the initial craze should listen to it again. The vocal melodies are incredible. Especially the "ask yourself" bridge section. At first i thought the verse parts were quite cheesy but they grew on me and the provide the light to the chorus' heavy section.

The only problem i have is the solos. Finck's solo is poor and BH's solo has nothing to do with the rest of the song. Sounds completely out of place. I also agree the first line is terrible.

I would have preferred they did One Two.

Lets hope the next album after Death Magnetic doesn't have Un4given.

The first leak ever happened. Which was IRS in 2005.

Greatest Hits was released with some controversy.

GN'R were planned to play at Rock In Rio 2004.

That's about it.

All that happened before Buckethead left. Although as James said there was another IRS leak in 2005.

The funny time I started browsing the forums was just after BH left, which is strange because nothing was happening so I'm not sure what kept me occupied. I guess I wasn't use to all the rumours so found them exciting.

If you believe Mysteron, he says Shackler's will be on CD. Of course, as always with GNR, plans can change. I don't think you put a novelty song on RockBand. Who would want the most widely heard song from newGNR to not be on the album? Doesn't make much sense to put anything but the first single on a video game this successful.

On a lighter note, would any of you try to sing the vocal part for this video game?

He said it was a new GnR song, I don't think he said it would be on CD. I'd be interested to see the quote if he said it.

Edit - just seen he did confirm it, ignore me

The replies in the one and a half hours since this was posted say it all.

Are we sure Shackler's Revenge is on the album? I have a feeling its some guitar-crazy fun novelty song that they recorded that they thought would be cool for Guitar Hero but won't be on the album.  Like its another way of getting that song out. Just a hunch.

I have a feeling the nine songs that leaked are related to the release and were all planned to be on there. Given that it consists of most of the album, he may well replace some of them with unheard tracks.

I'm saying those 9 plus Sorry and Prostitute. The other two could be anything but I'll guess Zodiac which is rumoured to leak, and Shackler's Revenge, seen as you guys are confident it will be on there. If not, or if there are more than 13 songs, i'd say Atlas Shrugged. Complete guess based on fact Classic Rock guy said he heard it. No real reason that matters I suppose.

The songs I'd like to be on the album, based on what I've heard and what I'd like to hear, would be:

CD
The Blues
Better
Madagascar
There Was A Time
Song #2
Prostitute
Atlas Shrugged
Sorry
Catcher In The Rye
The General
Shackler's Revenge
This I Love

Is there anything Finck can do to silence these types of nay sayers?

Playing the songs correctly would be a good start. There is this annoying thing he does where he kinda plays the note muted for a second before playing the actual note. It just doesn't work on the GnR classics. His solos on the new stuff are great. I like BH's versions of the classic solos but Slash will always be king when it comes to AFD solos.

I don't think he does it to annoy Slash - it would just be silly and I don't think Axl would allow it. I think he genuinely believes he is adding his touch to the songs.

Oh so someone else came in and did more orchestration that wasn't buckmaster if that is infact prostitute? How does that make sense?

Chris Pitman? Makes perfect sense. Buckmaster probably just done orchestration for the main song.

Whatever song I'm listening to, Those are some pretty heavy power chords in the chorus - I can imagine all the guitarists rocking out on stage while playing those parts.

If The World doesn't have heavy rhythm guitars - just an electric blues solo. TWAT is the only other song  that fits that description but he obviously wasn't talking about that song. Also, the untitled song has heavier rhythm and solo parts than TWAT.
