I think the song is about whatever people want to believe it's about.
So is every song on the planet, and there is nothing wrong with that. Personally, when I listen to this song, I apply it to my life, instead of Axl's.

After listening again this morning, I am thinking it's to Slash, Duff or anyone that has talked about him to the press, on tv shows, etc and also to the fans. Certain lyrics to them and certian lyrics to us.
