Yeah, Scott shouldn't talk shit on anyone because his lyrics on the two albums were pretty shitty and all he did was repeat the chorus 4 times a song.

I really can't express how much I would take Duff and Izzy's songwriting and vocals over that asshat.

The concert was awesome, the vocals were so spot on it was almost scary. The boys were on fire and everyone was loving it, but for whatever reason, they cut their usual four song encore down to two, which meant they never played Razamanaz, which is my favorite. I was sort of bummed. It kicked so much ass it's hard to complain, though.

On another note, Canadian rock band The Headpins were scheduled to open for them, but weren't there due to an emergency. Not sure what the deal was, but shitty Harlequin played instead. I heard one of the band members had a heart attack, but it could be talk from someone's ass as easily as it could be fact.

And, who could forget this performance?

Axl is so fired up there, that would have been something else to see.

I'd like have heard Axl do Love Hurts (just because it's his type of song) and maybe Bad Bad Boy.

Yeah, it sort of takes me aback that Nazareth has to play for such small crowds given how influential they were. If you like AC/DC, Aerosmith and even Gunners, Nazareth is a shoe-in to be a band you'll love. But, this does little to sway people to check them out. Everyone knows Love Hurts and Hair of the Dog, but to be honest, it's kinda weird how many people think AC/DC did Hair of the Dog.

Their songs are all good-great, they aren't the best at what they do, but they're consistent so much that all their music is listenable at worst. The new album, Newz seems pretty good, but I've been too busy to get around to it.

And, for the record, the Hammer thing is mostly a novelty... I only know the one song.

Figured I'd post my excitement here since I don't think any other forum would give a shit. I've never really been to a concert before (other than Weird Al last year... who isn't nearly as cool as he was when I was 10), so the boys in Naz will bust my cherry wide open tonight! I'm pretty excited I'll get to see a band that is to me legendary in the flesh instead of just on the stereo!

It might not be Aerosmith or AC/DC, but I'm damn pumped. I've been listening to them since I found a Greatest Hits cassette of my mom's when I was a kid! Judging from Youtube, they still rock pretty hard, too!

Then Sunday, I see MC Hammer, haha.

He also paid 20 million to settle that initial 1993 case.  That doesn't scream innocence to me.  If nothing truly happened he would have fought tooth and nail to protect his name and rep.  This was in 1993 where his name still meant something in the music world.  I was watching NBC where this cop who worked on this case said point blank that the accuser gave a very detailed description of Michael's genitals.  I believe the legal document (criminal complaint) that the accuser made in 1993 was leaked onto The Smoking Gun.  I read that and there is a lot of damming evidence against Michael Jackson.

Then around 10 years later similar charges are brought against him again.  I don't think it is coincidental.  He got off by basically putting the accuser on trial by focusing on their problems.  Then there was that Bashir piece that aired on ABC.  That's way too much stuff for me to say he's not a pedophile.

I read that the person who gave the description wasn't completely accurate, not to mention the fact that after he got his money, he no longer wanted anything to do with police investigation of Jackson. I also think the latest charges were brought forth after the whole Bashir incident, which could very well have been taking advantage of the whole weirdness factor. To me, I don't see how the family would settle if MJ was really to blame. Wouldn't they want Jackson to be kept locked away so he couldn't do this thing again? If they settled knowing their kid was telling the truth, they basically whored out their own child.

I really don't know. I would think if the guy really wanted to do something like that, with his means and money, he could have done it without getting caught. Can't you pretty much do anything in some parts of this world?  I just know, in my mind, he was off in la-la land and because of that, I just have no idea. The guy did a lot of good for this world and he was never proven to have done anything wrong with children. I guess it's just one of those things we'll never know. Now that he's dead, I'm sure more allegations will fly for some book deals, but who knows?

Rock stars are weird with this shit, though. Steven Tyler was in love with a 15 year old at the beginning of his career, if you guys recall.

It's weird having to separate the art from the man, but it's essential. Nikki Sixx and Tommy essentially raped a woman, Vince Neil got drunk and killed someone, the list goes on and on and on.

Just goes to show that this world is a damn fucked up place... and it's evident in the music.

I was hoping the same, Gunslinger. Show "artists" nowadays how it's done and why their albums sell for shit.
