The “Remarks” section says 10:00 - 45:00, but the box also says it is Take 1.

Does that imply a 35-second or 35-minute version?! Or does it reference a measure of tape length?

Not sure but 35 mins would make sense for a song if it's individual instrument stems too. Eg 3 mins song played by 10 different instruments separately etc.

Although I notice it 'slave reel'  too which i think was what they used mixdowns of some tracks to record further overdubs against....but I don't really know what the hell i'm talking about as I never recorded on DAT or the stuff they would have been using back then really.

Because the band is about the humiliation and degradation of Slash while keeping him happy enough not to quit.

Absurd is the first single because it was the hardest to swallow. You will stand there and play it and you will like it. See? We could have just done this in the 90s but nooo....

Then you will play those other "hard rockers" that you liked back in 1999 like catcher, twat, this I love, and the blues. I feel like doing something new. Maybe it's time for "the blues", "prostitute", and something really close to your roots like Witchlinefuck.

Once in a blue moon slash will realise the band is about his shame now and a small token is given to him to keep him in line...

Sure they could play Fall to Pieces, but that's a song Axl rejected, can't make him look bad....slither on the other hand is something slash fought with matt to make...and one thing everyone agrees on is how they no longer like matt....so....on with the show....and let the $ roll on.

Ok...I guess i made that up...but it's as good a theory as anything else these days. 5

My guess is Axl thinks it keeps slash happy enough (and maybe it does who knows).

Am I the only one who listens to songs as a kid and sings along due to the catchy melody. Then you read the lyrics as an adult more like a poem and you're like FFS....what is this we've been singing about?

It's almost funny to me, people go around having kids sing songs like thunderstruck and like a prayer at public events, and its really like we've all never really thought about what it means.

Please don't fuck with this site's layout. It's my anchor. It's pretty much the only way I know we're in the same universe as we once were. Like come on...this is not the real future of the 1990s....it has it charms for sure....but i can't take it serious as the evolution of that era.

#146 Re: Guns N' Roses » Perhaps (2023) to Drop » 98 weeks ago

Why not have both? Chinese leftovers this year, vintage snakepit era slash leftovers next year. 16

#147 Re: Guns N' Roses » Perhaps (2023) to Drop » 99 weeks ago

I don't interpret Slash not saying a lot as lack of enthusiasm, more that he knows that accidently saying the wrong thing could start issues they don't need, same reason Axl said at the china exchange that he wasn't going to publish his account of prior events. I think they're all happy things work and just don't ever do anything that might break it big_smile

Happy this is finally coming out though, I like the song as we last heard it, and pretty excited at the prospect of a second song or more too.

I think the demo of perhaps is a great classic Axl piano type song.

Based on the live rehearsal it sounds like the modern version will be pretty much the same thing.

I like it. The only hard bit is waiting like years on end for 1 or 2 songs at a time.

#149 Re: Guns N' Roses » Shallow » 99 weeks ago

Does anyone know what the real band is if its not GNR? I like the song.

#150 Re: Guns N' Roses » Shallow » 99 weeks ago

I remember that was floating around about 2 years ago with another leak under the title "They Forgot the Dump Button" implying someone had dumped it from a PA at a rehersal space or live venue.

I'd not seen it called Shallow either - but I think it's a great song for Axl - that melodying "la le dah" bit in the middle reminds me of some of the sort of retro sounding stuff like "too fast too soon" they used to play around with.

I hope they make it  if it is theres - it's quite a haunting melody.
