There's a lot they could do to improve the product.

Treat it with some degree of seriousness. At the end of the day it's meant to be a simulation of an athletic contest, and these days whilst it's impressive to see what they can do, it often feels like a gymnastic spotfest.

Secondly, it needs some storylines where it feels like there are some real stakes. That would be helped if their belts mattered more, and if their main champions weren't absent all the time. I remember back when I watched when I was younger that a simple feud for PPVs was a match between two guys to be No.1 Contender for the next PPV -  I haven't seen that in years. It's simple and can be mixed with some storyline personal animosity, and can also allow for interesting situations on the TV show where those guys interact with whoever is going to be fighting for the belt at the show. Simple, uncomplicated stuff. Nowadays every angle seems to live in it's own self contained universe and each segment happens one after the other. Doesn't help that every angle they have nowadays is a snooze fest.

I'm not expecting any major change to the quality of the booking or the presentation in the short term. I'd guess they'll keep it steady and business as usual as much as possible for a short while. After that though... then I'll be interested to see what happens with the shows.

I dont even want CD leftovers with slash and duff on them because they sound like crap. Absurd and hard school both pale in comparison to the 99-02 versions.  Hard school sounds like Axl is singing through a tin can and string and the guitars sound like a midi file.

I don't get this attitude. Would you rather never hear any of the CD leftover songs?

I agree that I'd prefer to hear songs like Soulmonster, Berlin, The General etc. as they originally sounded, but I'll take a Slash & Duff version over never hearing them.

I want to hear them with the band that wrote the songs. Duff and Slash just ruin the songs.  They should be writing their own songs with Axl and Axl should just release the CD era stuff as a solo box set.

So you'd rather not hear them at all? It may be the only way that a CD era box set gets released or demos of the original versions leaking comes from these eventually getting an official release.

Like you, I'd prefer the originals, but if this is what it takes to hear them in any form then I'll be happy with that. I just wish they'd actually keep releasing stuff.

With GN'Rs track record, something is better than nothing.

Serious question: If the band does in fact release more previously unissued ChiDem-era tracks, we can assume at this point that the vocals are not new, just recycled. Think 'The General" with Duff and Slash.

Does that increase, decrease, or have no bearing on whether or not we might get leaks of the original recordings with Bucket and company?

It would hurt the value of those leaks as the mystery would be gone. Not sure if that makes them more likely to leak though.

That said there are early versions of UYI songs like Coma that still haven't leaked.

So looks like the "PG Era" is over. Raw is TV-14 moving forward, starting Monday.

The coercion of talent and then release when they later refused is bad shit. As is the harassment and unsolicited nudes. That could end him.

The "manager" mentioned in the article doesn't sound like it's a wrestling manager but is someone who worked at the company as a manager. If it were an on screen talent that's what they would say, the audience written for in these WSJ articles aren't wrestling fans -  they don't know the lingo.

So, granted it was a festival set, but tonight they dropped CD and Estranged...

Christ, why would they keep Absurd over Hard Skool?

My gueess would be because it's a much easier song for him to sing.

Hmm...makes me wonder if they're removing it to open the slot for an upcoming new song.

If one or two new songs are on tap this tour, something has to be ditched....and it won't be the 30 year old songs.

You're giving me false hope for the show I'm seeing in a couple of weeks. I'll be kind of pissed if they drop Hard Skool and don't replace it with something new also.

Their promotion wasn't good but it's the last thing they "heavily" promoted, it would be ridiculous to drop it and not having something else to take it's place.

In the last few posts you called him a white supremacist and someone planning a mass killling. You are the one everyone has had a problem with here, Mitch. You make everything personal. Even people who agree with you politically. You need to ask why that is. You need to chill out.

I count myself as someone who lands a lot more on Mitch's side of the political spectrum.

And I gotta say....

Mitch, why the fuck are you accusing people of being white supremacists and following that up with suggestions that they own guns and "have a plan to use them"?

Like, if you want any sort of reasonable debate or conversation with people you've got to be less inflamatory and personal.
