"Not a single person was talking about Axl Rose"

Crazy how Rolling Stone was able to catch up to everyone as they left.

Everyone is still talking about him today!

I'm confused. Doesn't this fact

Fans were screaming out "Fuck Axl" through much of the night

contradict the author's position that no one missed the redhead?

Also,

A powerful singer, Kennedy hit every Axl-patented banshee wail perfectly.

We all heard the stream. I don't think anyone seriously believes this.

Dude, Axl struggles to maintain a minimum acceptable level of performance on some songs.  They are hard songs to sing.

Mr. Brownstone? PC? Sweet Child?

Even at 50, these are strong Axl songs. He has trouble with more of the newer ones, most of which have been dropped or are rarely heard in the set: Prostitute, TWAT, Oh My God, Shackler's.

What he cant sing sweet child or paradise city for shit man you need to clean your ears out and quick he can sing Mr brownstone alright still and not bad on Shackler's and its not rarely played thats for sure

LOL.

Your response is enough to render my counter reply moot.

Watched a couple of excerpts, it just made me sad. Myles, ffs. Axl shoulda been up there, it would've been ten minutes out of his life. Would it have made any appreciable difference to him in the long run?

Yeah, it does.

He didn't want to be on stage with Slash and didn't want to fuel the fires that this group would ever play again. I think the former really outweighed the latter, but that is my opinion.

Plus Myles was immensely entertaining as he struggled mightily to maintain a minimum acceptable level of performance.

As someone mentioned, sweep up the dust, it's over. No big deal.

Lol, Slash and Duff, honor? Letting Myles Kennedy rape your songs on national television is not my idea of honor. Going up there without two of the most influential members in the band just reeks of self importance and profile raising. Yeah, I bet all of them are doing it for the "fans". Gimme a break. They had a choice just like Axl did.

+1

They can induct who they want. It doesn't matter.

The only thing I'm interested in is did the guys talk about Axl in their speeches?

Chris Rock cracked on his ass nicely, and Billie Joe mentioned him and boo's erupted, then Billie tried to quell it and put Axl over.

Interesting. I remember Chris Rock went backstage at MSG '02 and wanted to Bucket to take his mask off.

Like I said, wake up tomorrow and see if you still feel the same.

No agenda here.

Just watching a lot of people spazz out over....well..... a whole lot of nothing.

In accordance to the HOF... you're right.

In accordance to Axl... you're right.

Axl's pretty much nothing.

Really? You were really enjoying the last tour a few months ago.

Now suddenly the man is nothing b/c he doesn't show up to accept a sham award with a couple of guys who sued him for everything that mattered in his life?

Tough crowd.
