The Lincoln Project has been relentless in its attacks on Trump and his complicit Senators. With new ads almost daily. There are a few other Republican groups who are also hitting him hard with ads. I don't remember ever seeing something like this before.

I don't think trump makes it to election day. Yesterday, was a MASSIVE pivot on cornavirus and masks. And this president NEVER pivots!
Someone got to him about how bad this winter may become, and that it really needs attention, direction, and something needs to be done. I bet he was predicting on restarting the riots to divert attention from covid, which is why he wanted to send in federal agents to multiple northern, urban cities, since covid is mostly down south. There haven't been protests in Philly in over a month. I don't think NYC has had them either for some time.
Someone talked him out of that. I think ppl were prepared to quit & out him over it.
I don't think he'll drop out. The executive office is his hedge against criminal charges in NY for starters. But ultimately it's his narcissism that will keep him from dropping out IMO. Of course one could argue that the narcissist's biggest fear is losing an election. But just like 2016, he's already prepping for that result with claims of "voter fraud" and is not sure if he'll accept the results if he loses.
It's very dangerous territory for our country to be in.

That WHO statement was basically retracted.
Meanwhile, cases are exploding in many areas, primarily in the south and southwest. We're in this for the long haul.
I find it interesting how people attack science. As we get new data, we arrive at new conclusions. There is plenty to learn about this virus as we move forward.
A new study also found that wearing a mask will also help protect you from an infected person. It does this by lowering the viral load that you may be breathing in. They're finding that people who became infected while wearing a mask (or short exposures in general without one) had milder symptoms and weren't nearly as sick.
So yes, wear your mask to protect others when you're out. But know now that it probably significantly reduces the amount of virus you could also be taking in.
The illness is debilitating. People are suffering the effects months after clearing it. People are catching it twice. Medical bills are devastating. If more people catch it, shut down orders don't matter. People will stay home.
You don't want to catch this. Even if you're a healthy 20 year old, it could leave you with long lasting issues for many months afterwards (so far that we know.)
I'd still argue the death rate it also important though.
#154 Re: The Garden » US Politics Thread » 265 weeks ago
So we went from certain death to now it's just the flu. Noted. For months it was death, death, death - we're all going to die if we don't shut the world down. Now it's meh, it's just another flu like H1N1 was eventually considered to be.
I haven't taken a sick day since my appendix burst over 20 years ago. If I survived that, trust me my immune system is (or at least was before we were forced to stay in) quite strong. I work from home, so it's no big deal to work when I have the flu. I'm far more worried about what happens if my wife gets this (though we believe she had it last year) than I am if I get it.
I wasn't scared of how many people died this time around...I don't think you're suddenly going to scare me by lumping in the flu/pneumonia deaths with it. People die every year. Almost all of them are immuno-compromised. Why am I going to be scared next year when I know it's coming? I don't watch MSM. Not CNN, not Fox, not whatever other thing you want to throw in unless NBC News is on while cooking dinner after running over from the local news. It's all bullshit and I don't care what their latest fear-mongering reports are. I'm just not interested. So safe to assume the fear level will be low. Thanks for your concern though.
Protect the at risk. I've been saying it since day one and I'll continue to say it. All the data says it. Yes, random people outside of that die occasionally. We will all die eventually. Live life to the fullest; enjoy what you have. If you live your whole life afraid, you're not really living. That doesn't mean be reckless, it just means don't stop living out of fear.
Almost 150,000 dead Americans and you still haven't gotten a clue. We'll be at 200-250k by the fall I'd imagine, sadly.
Our country is in the mess it's in now precisely because of "thinking" like this.

Does anyone think Biden would make it four years in office? The stress is bad enough on a young guy and Joe looks pretty rough right now.
Can America handle four more years of Trump?

I still think the Senate might go weak and vote to not impeach. McConnells is a pure dick. Dems need Bolton to testify to nail this shut.
Friend of mine posted saying Trumps Walter Reed visit was a flase flag, and he thinks the GOP will fore him to resign saying Dems ruined his health. Pure guess but no more fucked up that this Presidency already.
The Stone case is interesting, hope that gets bigger. I do think Pence, Pompeo & Mulvaney are obvi guilty. Pence needs to go down with the ship, I want this President Pelosi thing to grow legs, haha, I will ctfo.
There are a great deal of prominent Republicans that are outraged and disappointed with their party right now on Twitter. They're calling Trump a criminal and their party cowards. Unfortunately none of them happen to be in the Senate or Congress.
The Walter Reed thing was weird. It surely wasn't a routine physical. I've also read that theory. I still could never imagine Trump resigning. The presidency insulates him from criminal liability which he'll surely face once he's out.
Stone case will most certainly open more things up and has already started to. I'm curious if Stone will go out like a gangster or sing like Cohen before he's sentenced to prison. One thing is clear, as Sonland said "They were all in the loop." They all knew what Trump was doing. Bolton in particular calling it a "Drug deal" and got the hell outa dodge before he got bogged down in it. Pence, Mulvaney etc were all in the know.

3. I don’t think this is unique or special. Biden literally did what Trump was accused of. Obama was caught on a mic telling Dmitrev he’d “have more flexibility after the election.” It’s what anyone does at that stage.
Do I think it’s “good” that it happens, no. The media campaign congressional democrats have launched since day one turns me off to anything they say. It’s removed their credibility, and this impeachment trial is so partisan, the notion it should be taken serious is laughable. That’s the great tragedy, this is what our government has become.
Biden and Obama are irrelevant to this.
Your media claims and "partisan" complains are also irrelevant.
Trump violated the constitution via bribery and extortion. We have several sworn testimonies (including trump appointees and Pence's assistant) that confirm it. Trump also admitted it and so did Giuliani on tv.
You're either are ok with that or you aren't. And it sounds like you're cool with it.
Ultimately its not about trump, it's about you. You've deceived yourself, and no amount of truth can ever get you to admit it.
Some people never learn...
See the last sentence above, that applies to you as well.

Giuliani is a dumpster fire. I Mean, can we impeach him of something?
No doubt he'll be in trouble soon enough.

I think one of the more alarming things that happened this week was Fiona Hill's testimony debunking the counter story that Ukraine interfered in our election. She essentially told Nunes that he was repeating Russian propaganda with his Ukraine election meddling accusations.
Furthermore our elected officials, to include the GOP of course, were all briefed on this. They were specifically told it wasn't true and that Russia was pumping out this disinformation. Yet our president and the republicans continue to stick to this narrative knowing damn well that it's Russian propaganda.
I find this disturbing. We literally have one political party (and their media outlets) ignoring our intelligence briefings and repeating conspiracy theories created by Putin. I bet he never imagined he would be so successful, but he probably never imagined the GOP would become the traitor party either.
Dangerous, depressing and a serious national security risk.
And breaking tonight, which is a bombshell to an absolutely crazy week: Giuliani associate willing to tell Congress Nunes met with ex-Ukrainian official to get dirt on Biden.
https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/22/politics … index.html
So there it is. Nunes with all his accusations and finger pointing, doing everything in his power to discredit those coming forth to testify against Trump, also worked with Ukraine to get dirt on Biden. That mother fucker. He should be removed from the impeachment hearings immediately.

I see Trump has bowed down again to Kim Jong Un. I thought Trump was supposed to be tough. Really, he's a coward.
Syria was a smashing success as well...
