#1641 Re: The Sunset Strip » 100 Best Selling Albums Of All Time » 911 weeks ago
There are some soundtracks that are like that. There was a shitty Eddie Murphy movie called "Boomerang" and the soundtrack was ENORMOUS in the early 90s only because it was the first album you could get "End Of The Road" by Boyz II Men on.
Nowadays the album wouldn't even chart but the one song everyone wanted would be downloaded (no doubt illegally) by millions of folk

Badly out of sync Is this a youtube/upload problem?
#1643 Re: The Sunset Strip » Is There a Pink Floyd and Wizard Of Oz link? » 911 weeks ago
I heard of this years ago. I always thought it was just some stoner sitting around listening to Pink Floyd while Oz was on tv muted. Then had a "moment of clarity" as only a stoned person can.
I took it as a given that you had to be stoned for this to work. When stoned any music will sync with TV with humorous results though

I've heard about it though never actually tried it. Anyone remember those "Wheelie" characters from Return To Oz? I still have nightmares about those scary bastards lol

I loved the credits... "Impending Lawsuit By ... Axl Rose"
#1646 Re: Guns N' Roses » Eddie Trunk on Chinese Democracy » 911 weeks ago
^ And you can bet Chinese Democracy's sale price won't be a measly 5 dollars.
If Axl was in a position to offer this album for only a $5 download price, which he isn't given the costs already involved presumably, I doubt he would even get 20% of the fans paying. I'm all for Axl and new-GNR but I'm also realistic.

Wow.
Fast night at GNRE. I'll go back to where I left, I reckon I have more to say there.
...
The GNR message boards are flooded as the most eager response is met within the confinement of whatever quarters all the downloading motherfuckers are situated within.
Great post, as always
If any of you haven't read Trents comments about being a musician in the crumbling music industry I suggest you do. Whilst Saul Williams is not even close to being a household name like GNR is/was, the numbers speak for themselves.
As of 1/2/08:
154,449 people chose to download Saul's new record.
28,322 of those people chose to pay $5 for it, meaning:
18.3% chose to pay.

Haha good article. The only thing I can remember about Speed 2 was how crap it actually was. The whole storyline escapes me now but I remember promising to chop off my legs if I ever watched it again

#1650 Re: The Garden » Food that you crave and must have at times » 911 weeks ago
I don't really crave certain foods though I have a few weird "craves" regarding certain foods. For example, brown sauce has to be the HP brand. Tea has to be Tetley. Skins for joints have to be Rizla brand, silver or blue.
My only real craving is fresh orange juice when stoned. I wont drink the stuff unless ive had a joint or two, then I'll be guzzling down litres of it
