Making up for lost money…. that’s funny, when they’ve all made more money than anyone would need for several lifetimes.
Money is clearly the only motivating factor for Axl’s absolutely abysmal display, because he doesn’t seem to care enough to put any effort into his performance.
Just because they already have a lot of money doesn’t mean they don’t want/need more. They’re used to living a certain lifestyle and were taking in millions a year and that all went away suddenly. I know it’s not easy to hear or comprehend, but it’s reality.
From the clips I saw, they seemed to be in good spirits. So I don’t agree that they’re just going through the motions and don’t care what product they’re putting out. They’re doing it for the money. They added Dead Horse, granted it’s only 1 song, but it’s something. You’re Crazy hasn’t been played a lot either. Slither is played to throw a bone to Slash and Duff playing the CD songs.
I get the frustration, but I also get what they’re doing and why they’re doing it. We’ve been having the same discussions and complaints for years now. Shame on us if we keep on spinning our wheels. I’m skipping out on this tour, mainly because of finances and other things. I’d love to hear Dead Horse though, despite the lackluster performance last night. But I’d rather wait for some more substantial changes.
As Axl alluded to a few times though, we spent a year locked in our houses basically and we’re back to bitching about the same things. So I guess we are indeed back to normal. I try to enjoy what we do have instead of dwelling on what we don’t, but that’s just me. To each their own.

Not to make excuses, but I think the sole purpose of this tour is to line their pockets with money after losing out on a lot being on lockdown the last year plus. They were raking in the money prior to 2020 and then the entertainment world came to a screeching halt. Money is made through touring, not albums. Hate to keep pushing the goalposts, but I wouldn’t expect any movement on the new music end until after this run. I’d expect them to play “Hard School” eventually and make that a staple in a sense. But that’s about it.
A positive review from the show here that does mention the lack of set list changes. But other than that, it’s still a good show to catch for a night out.

Disappointed. Can someone explain to me what, if anything was different to NITL? Was there a different aesthetic to the videos/imagery? Because at this point, they might as well call it NITL-rehash.
High points are Axl looked a little fitter and Slash looks great and fit too. Dead Horse sounded good I thought. They've slowed down AFD songs by the sounds.
Low points - too many inane jam sections, noodly solos (Fortus's wankery is getting worse seemingly) and excruciatingly long versions of KOHD and Paradise City. I'd love to take those two songs out and shoot them.
More covers ffs.
No new shitThe next chapter huh?
I’m not going this time around, but “Dead Horse” would be the one thing I’m sorry I’ll miss. Unless of course they play something new like Hard School, then add that to the list.

Just caught the end of PC on a stream. Sound was decent. Axl didn’t sound much different than in the past IMO. So if you think he sucked in the past you’d think the same and vice versa.
I think they had an 11pm curfew tonight and it sounds like they have one at Fenway too on Tuesday, thus the short encore.

On the other hand, I'm afraid that songs like Soul Monster are probably lost forever since they can't be easily "Slashified" in that manner. Why the hell couldn't Axl have just released CD II in 2015?
Slash's hard school was a disaster. You really think that was good?
As for something like Soul Monster, not sure why Axl just doesn't let Fortus do the BH stuff Fortus can shred and would be able to handle all of BHs stuffbut of course Axl wants to give Slash pretty much all fo the CD solos that both Finck and BH did. So dumb.Slash improved Hardschool to actually sound like a Guns N’ Roses song. If you think that’s butchering it, then you don’t really like GN’R’s classic sound.
When did a clip of Hardschool come out with Slash playing? Is that something recent?

I’m just getting my daughter into Scooby Doo and Axl, so this is perfect for me. Of course I’d prefer new music, but I’ve given up on that fantasy.

I’ve never seen the claim that it was scrapped because he was watching porn. Where/who is that from?
It was from this episode on Reelz. I can’t remember exactly who said it. Could’ve been Goldstein, but I can’t say for sure. I erased it so I can’t go back and check and I can’t find it online anywhere or any future airings.

I finished watching it this weekend. I thought it was pretty good, especially if you didn’t know the whole story. They did a good job explaining Axl’s rough upbringing and how that shaped him for the rest of his life. Some interesting stuff, although nothing really new.
I didn’t know (or maybe I forgot) that Axl scrapped 6 months of Bucket material when he found out he created it while watching porn. He wanted the album to reflect his soul and thought that people would know that the guitar parts were created through the influence of porn. Just one of the many reasons the process took so damn long.

I taped this last night but haven’t watched it yet. Doesn’t sound like it’s going to be too kind towards Axl.

Chiefs looked ready to defend their title last night. They’re going to be a tough out. I don’t think Houston is a threat to them though so I’m not sure how much you can really take away from that game. Let’s see when they go up against a legit good defense.
Interested to see how Clowney meshes with the Titans. Can he take that defense to another level? They showed great fight in the playoffs last season, but that doesn’t always carry over to the next season. I think it will, but it’s certainly no guarantee.
