Monk, when people start using the word "dated", I stop listening.....Nevermind and Bleach are just as awesome today as they were then. Hank Williams recordings in the early 50's are just as good now as they were then. The Carter Family songs from the 20's are incredible. A good song is a good song, no matter when it was recorded. To even say "dated" is actually really "dated"...it is an ignorant way to say you simply don't like the song or are just tired of the song. People get dated...a good song doesn't.

I disagree with this. Some bands do sound dated and Nirvana is one of them. the reason certain bands and artists sound as good years down the road is because their songs have aged well and have a timeless quality to them. Nirvana's songs do not in my opinion. They sound incredibly dated and not in a good nostalgic way either.  Do they have good songs? Yes but they don't sound fresh anymore the way say AFD still does or hell the way the Stones and Beatles still do.  Nirvana sounds like a fashion trend that's gone way out of style.  Nirvana sounds dated the way Posion sounds dated.

All of the points you've made are great and valid but this is enough for me.

enough as in bullshit or enough as in that pretty much sums it up?

I actually watched the whole thing last night for the first time since I was little and for an animatd film from 1982 it actually holds up pretty well I think.  Obviously the story could be expanded a bit. Go more in depth as to what Unicorns are be it their magical or spiritual qualities are. Delve more into King Haggard's obsession and maybe show how a once proud King ruined himself via his obsession.  Also explaining the Red Bull a little better would be good. Also develope the characters of Prince Lir, Schemndrick and Molly Grue so we know who they really are. The butterfly could be a more consitent character throughout the movie. I'd actually change the Pirate Cat character to a human character. Kinda like a  worm  tongue character from LOTR. I'd make it roughly 2 hours 45 minutes long.

The potential for a very cool movie is there I think. Maybe I should do it 16

Worst case scenario we get Die Hard 4. Flying under the banner doesn't mean it will be Star Wars.

Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith were Star Wars films in the same way Gun N' Roses has been Guns N' Roses the last 13 years. In name only.  The difference this time is that there is the possibility we'll get good movies out of it. the prequels fucking sucked and are even worse as ime has gone on.

That was classy. I'm talking sex scenes and dialogue of the sort "females can be as good jedi too!". You know, standard Hollywood hack fare.

Well there are female jedis in the expanded universe in the books so...... Also one of thecoolst characters in the Sar Wars universe is Mara Jade. Not a jedi but still a  female. And I highly doubt they are gonna add sex scenes to Star Wars. That seems like a very unrealistic concern in my opinion.

That being said, if JJ is only there to get the stuff on tape, with Lucas and Kennedy making ALL the executive decisions, it could work. Abrams is a skilled entertainer, I'll give him that.

Lucas doesn't have creative control anymore. They'll look to him for input but he no longer has final say on things and in my opinion that's a good thing.

Dude the last three Star Wars movies didn't work with Lucas so why this fear that they won't work without him?

Does anyone else remember ths movie/book? Not sure why but today I was reminded of the old cartoon movie / book The Last Unicorn. I loved that movie as a kid and the book as well. I've thought on more than one occasion that it's a no brainer for Hollywood to adapt it into a live action film and to be honest I'm kinda surprised it hasn't already happened. I know it was supposed to happen at one point but nothing ever came of it. I think the timing would be perfect. The LOTR movies are popular, Harry Potter is popular, Fantasy is always a big genre and with technology(CGI) they could do this movie and do it justice. Especially the Red Bull.  I just think of the Balrog from LOTR and I realize how cool this could be.  I'd like to see it done in a dark tone, a little more for adults but still appeal to young people just not little kids. I know it's a kids movie but I think done along the lines of LOTR would be pretty cool. Anyways I thought about it today quite a bit (maybe I felt nostalgic) and I decided this is how I'd cast the movie. Obviously there are other characters but these are the main ones.

Lots of rumors here. If these things are true it's good news and very exciting for Star Wars fans.

Like others of said, the video made the Joint look huge, that place is tiny.

It's the "camera adds 10 lbs effect"  I was shocked at how small the sets were at David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel when I went to the shows in person.  I didn't expect the sets to be huge but I was shocked at how small they actually were.
