Another poster on another forum claiming to be in the know is claiming that the album is at an impasse in terms of release due to the label viewing Axl’s demands as “ridiculous”.
This person also claims the label views GNR management as a joke.

If we are to assume there is any truth in this, what do we believe these demands could be ?

The thing is, it would be near impossible to get this level of detail out of the record company because 99.9 percent of them know very little about the band, and those that do know do not speak. And if they were to speak, they would never impart opinions about the bands management because it's unprofessional and just wouldn't happen.

There's not much to report.

The SA tour is happening soon. As previously shown, some of the dates appear re-arranged, and while they have not been lumped with the last tour, they have also not been lumped with the next tour, and there is a gap before the Euro tour. So, it's a no mans land tour, it could be anything, but hopefully there will be something new to give some insight into the new year. The year is obviously not panning out as planned, but there is not any negativity either so it's hard to call what is happening.

So we can still expect an album this year to coincide with Euro and US tours?

New material was said, not album. So I do not know.

Slash is also planning to return to his other projects next year (not sure when)

I thought Rolling Stone was considered a nothing magazine these days, there was a rise and fall article printed years back about how it lost it's way

As for the gigs, maybe they were planned ages ago, remember Frank mentioned Scotland last year, and that has happened

I don't think UYI nostalgia has anywhere near the pull of AFD nostalgia - no where near as iconic. So I doubt the emboldened approach with regard to stadiums is UYI related. I remain positive that the 'new chapter' starts with Europe and we will start hearing more about new plans/music on the SA tour...

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree, and there would be less appeal, but there is always a market. It would be up to Livenation to gauge such a tour.

Back to this year, I think the new tour has been pitched around new material being released.

Yea, cause millions will come to shows to see "Dead Horse", "Breakdown", "Bad Apples", and "Shotgun Blues."  GN'R has pretty much stretched their entire playable catalog already.  If they want to play 3-5k person shows and do deep cuts, sign me up.  But anything off the Illusion albums that a causal fan would be interested in hearing is already in the rotation.  Them playing "Coma", shocked me.  "The Garden" isn't going to bring fans to shows.

The albums sold 40 million copies worldwide, so there would be a market for a quick worldwide tour.

Next cycle could be the UYI thing mentioned ages ago, but long way off, not sure on that

What UYI thing? 20

The UYI thing was mentioned historically as a theme for the next tour. It was mentioned to one of the SA promoters last year.

He is expecting a new album, that is from the recent concert

Slash is talking album cycles for GN'R and his own projects, back and forth. This year represents Slash's expectations, the one year tour.
