I wonder if the likes of "Too Much Too Soon", "Cornshucker" or "Aint Going Down" will show up.
OR who knows.....there was also some stuff Slash worked on in the 2 months he was back in like 1995 or whenever that was wasn't there?
Plus all the chinese stuff.
Very exciting.

It's GNR so who knows anything, but looking objectively:
1. Slash implied at one stage they had 5-6 songs done and would release them occasionally over the next years. They released 2 and it's now been 2 years since that release.
2. Perhaps has been sound checked a couple of times this year.
3. The mixing engineer seemed to have show notes for perhaps and possibly the general.
4. Duff said there would be news in around a week (in an interview that was pulled).
5. There was a photo of the band listening to mixes of something (now also pulled).
To me this implies they are/were at least considering releasing something.
I was hoping for this week, but at this stage i'm wondering if the American leg is the most likely. I mean it's GNR so anything could happen. Might release everything or nothing at all. But there's sure been some positive looking events this tour.

I would be more pessimistic if they hadn't released the Absurd/Hardskool thing.
But that showed both that they have the desire to release songs, and, more importantly, that there are no legal/business-side impediments to releasing the unused CD songs or other music.
That is, it shows it's not that they have formally given up from releases and it's not that the rights are so tied up it's impossible to release. Sure it takes too long for us, but what has happened before can happen again.

I don't think we know that they abandoned the singles plan. Might just be on a slower cycle than we'd like.
I agree with Shacklermyrye - the band seems to be in "get something done" mode at the moment.
Might be setting myself up for a fall lol - but it just feels like they will do something soon.

The endless teasing is hard to take...but it does look like this tour is building to something...what with the soundchecks and then the show notes....plus the precedent that they released hardskool absurd as a casual release, plus we know Slash worked on a few more.
Like the default with GNR is always "nah nothing will happen" but it really does seem more real to me this time.
Axl seems fired up of late too, I've been digging the twat screams.....you never know we could be in for a good year.

Crazy to think it’s been this way since I was in middle school XD. The one thing in life that hasn’t changed is CD and new material speculation
It's insane really, there's self landing rockets, autonomous cars, AI computers that can freely chat with us, yet here we are still waiting for songs from 1999.

The passage of time and how its perception changes is a mind blowing and frightening aspect of aging.
Indeed this blows my mind.
I've read scientific justifications for it along the lines of your brain is interested in storing new info - so if lots of novel stuff is happening to you (as when a kid) it creates more memories and more focus on each thing than it does in old age (where today's breakfest is nearly identical to yesterdays).
I dunno if that cuts it for me though. Like maybe that's part of it. But come on, it's pretty damn scary.
Like half way through 2023 now....which means it's SEVEN YEARS since Axl was kicking ass in Ac/Dc.
How the fuck is it 7 years?
Like think about he expanse of time 7 years was a child. Like the time from when you were in grade 3 at school to grade 10?
At least that's comparing learning things etc, but as you said, things like summer holidays and vacations...time just went fucking slower I tell you.
Think about the wait between UYI and TSI. It was like 2 years. TWO.
The force awakens came out 9 years ago. NINE.
You tell me which felt like the longer gap

I remember hearing a couple of versions of OMG:
1. The End of Days Version
2. A leaked version labeled 2013 on the file (but no idea if it was from then) this had different guitars particularly in the second half of the song. The "it it opens your eyes" had more of a chuggy almost dancy riff a bit like the rhythms in shacklers. It was less 'busy' in some sections guitarwise but then there were also some very fast shred runs towards the end that sounded like bucket/bumble.
3. A version around 2018 that I suspect may have been a fan composit of the previous two versions. It generally sounded like the end of days version but with some of the shred guitars added over. It was a bit messy in places with guitars conflicting.
I think all of these had the same vocal track though. Although the 2013 one is not mixed/mastered for release properly compared to End of Days so bits like "Gotcha" sound a bit different cos they are not as loud.
But I am curious about an alternative vocals version! I am also interested to hear this one with Slash/Duff.....I think its one of Axl's great 'lost' songs...like it's not very well known but such awesome lyrics.

I view Slash's comments about not knowing how to release in conjunction with Axl's comments about streaming royalties at the 2016 China Exchange interview.
It's not that they can't release, of course they can hire a million experts to manage that if they need it, it's that the whole industry model these days doesn't really require them to release anything or really reward them particularly for doing so.
They make their money touring, at this stage it's a legacy act and new albums from legacy acts revitalise the fans a bit but are not essential. Most fans are there for the classics and will go anyway.
Aerosmith basically said the same thing after "Music From Another Dimension" didn't meet their expectations financially - it's just not worth the drama and heartache of making an album if it causes band stress, then half the audience dismisses it immediately because it's not Toys in the Attic or whatever, and then they don't get paid the way they used to.
I suspect GNR doesn't want to empty it's vaults just to make other people money, however, I hope they will release stuff just because THEY are proud of it and want it out there.
I remember when Absurd and Hardskool premiered and Axl seemed to be really into it. Sure the single didn't reinvent music history but we liked it, and they liked it. I hope they release more on that basis. I hope if they continue to make a fortune touring it encourages that stance too - because they won't need the music to make economic sense to release - it can be released just for fun.
