Dust in the wind, I do like the original, it does make me kinda sad though.  And never heard this one before.

Yeah, I've been spoiled about pretty much everything myself lol. It doesn't necessarily hurt that much though. In this instance it was pretty fun just waiting for what I knew would happen. I also knew Jamie would lose his hand, but I didn't know exactly when (or who) so it was still a great surprise when it finally did.

I did that too, in fact I stayed away from this thread for a while, just to ensure I didnt see anything from those who have read the books!

After Jaime's hand got the chop I couldnt help but look up that incident online, I didnt realise but I ended up on a site about the books, rather than the show and read a chunk that hadnt happened yet - Doh!

Luckily I was totally unaware of the Red Wedding, so that came as a good surprise.

My wife is a big advocate of reading the book before seeing the film / series, and now I am totally convinced that, for me, I'd rather see the show first, then read the book. After telling her this, large debate (argument) ensued. 14

Last nights episode (shown a day later than hbo in the states) was just awesome.  Wedding tension, evil Walder Frey, then a brutal killing spree, totally epic.  Havent read the books so was totally unexpected, jaw dropping in fact.  Loved it, and will be sad when the wait for season 4 starts.  Im gonna get Rome, as many have suggested, to fill the gap for a while.

That is a great story Will, I think out of all of Guns, past and present, Izzy is the one I'd like to meet the most. Seems like a really cool dude, with no hang-ups.

#168 Re: Guns N' Roses » The Final Comeback of Axl Rose (CQ, 2006) » 630 weeks ago

Thanks for posting that, great read. And I remember the 2006 show at Hammersmith Odeon, London UK, first show in the UK for a long time.  It was so tense in those couple of hours before he hit the stage, people saying he wasnt gonna show, that he was still at the hotel, the boos were going on, people were pissed off so bad, then he hit the stage and the place just erupted, it was amazing!

I was standing next to Tony Alva, waiting for what seemed like ages, and not realising it was actually Tony Alva, and made a complete cock of myself when I drunkly prodded his Alva t-shirt and proclaimed "Yeah man, I remember Alva skateboards, I had one when I was 12, they fucking ruled!".....then he handed me his business card, Alva.....Tony Alva...fuck man, I looked at him, shit, I felt like an utter douche....but then Axl came out, Welcome To The Jungle, who now give a shits about Tony Alva? I didnt, rock on !

Obviously he's only human but I think if he came out in 2006 style shape and form vocally people would be more likely to tolerate no-slash - but no slash then you make people wait and you're not on your A game and people will call you on it.

Yeah, that's the beef right there. The level he is at now overall seems a million miles away from 2006. Shame, I really enjoyed the 2006 performance, looks, and effort he put in.
