For the love of God, just get Chester Bennington to do it. He's a classic rock singer waiting for a rock band to come along.

One advantage of the release artwork is that it at least shows you who the musicians are. Axl's preferred version completely sidelines the band - no pics of Buckethead or Ron or Finck.

Wasn't the problem with the alternate version that securing the rights to all the artwork would've cost a packet?* And Merck/Azoff/Best Buy/whoever just wanted to rush-release the thing as part of the scheme to force Axl into a reunion...

*Mind you, that doesn't explain why there are copies out there. Which I would cheerfully gnaw off my own arm for, by the way.

FUCK YES. Definitely one of my top choices for the role, he has the voice, the songwriting abilities and the stage presence to front VR. Now, if only the guys would stop dithering, sign him up and get cracking on an Appetite-style angry rock album…

Thought u guys might like it!  I usually dont like spoofs but this is good!  Nice build at the end also.

I've been meaning to crank that again for aaaaages. I remember he came in for some stick for it when he first joined the band - crazy fans claiming he was disrespecting Axl or some shite like that...

Jesus, I wonder could it actually be Chester Bennington? IIRC Slash or Duff made some reference to not wanting to poach him from Linkin Park and his solo project; now the solo project's over and done with, he could have the time to spare… Are LP active or recording atm?

He's been my top choice from the outset, it'd be awesome if he got the gig.

Ironically, outside of GN'R i've never been a big fan of Marco Beltrami's work. Dimension Films lifted his work on "Scream" and interjected it into "Halloween H2O", absolutely butchering a perfectly wonderful orchestral score by John Ottman. I also thought Beltrami's "Terminator 3" score was absolutely terrible and a slap in the face to the franchise.

Terminator 3 was an absolute donkey of a film, yeah - and one of the many marks against it is that the producers ditched the iconic Brad Fiedel score in favour of an orchestral one. That would've sucked no matter who'd done it, so I can't really blame Beltrami for it.

As for If the World as a faux-Bond theme, I've always seen Prostitute as that - mainly for that chord change after the lines "To give what you have/for what you might lose". That's so Bond-theme it's untrue.

or Corey Taylor

Yeah - and he's actually more likely, given how much he's been hanging around with Camp Freddy recently. He doesn't have the Scott vibe, but he's certainly got the vocal chops.
