i like the errors in slash's book thread, but what he should have done is made the same thread for errors in other books which were published about gnr, if his whole objective was to "correctly inform" and fix errors with that type of a topic.

That was the thread that pissed me off to the point where I had to delete my account. I would consider myself pro-Axl/GNR, but reading that thread I was cringing because Jarmo just humiliated himself. I've met Jarmo and he seemed like a cool guy, and I have the utmost respect for the amount of time he has put into making HTGTH, but that thread was embarrasing to read imo.

His argument about the unofficial Izzy book was actually quite funny to read. The two books are completely different. Slashs biography is an officially authorised book apparently written, or at least co-authored by Slash himself. The Izzy book was a scam, that was why we had to warn fans not to purchase it. It's difficult to point out errors in a book when only 12~15 of the people who ordered it actually received it.

Fair enough, one of our moderators did receive the book and she pointed out the errors but they were slightly more significant errors compared to Slashs book ~ noticeably the guy spelt Izzys real name incorrectly (numerous times). He also stole interviews from the Izzy communities. We have proof of this because the original interviews were in Japanese and the mod could only transcribe them using Babelfish. The interviews don't even read coherently, our original spelling mistakes were present in the book, and for some unknown reason the author jumps between interviews from 1988 to 2000 making it impossible to follow etc. The whole thing was a scam right from the offset, and please note that Izzy did everything possible to prevent this book from ever being released at all. When our mod posted her review of the book online the author came to our community and called us "fucking trekkies" and threatened to sue us for hosting the bad review 14 (I must be a magnet for phoney lawsuits)

Jimmy Ashhurst (Ju Ju Hounds bassist/songwriter) who was interviewed for the book actually had to buy his own copy because the author didn't send the promo copy promised. Jimmy ordered the book, which never arrived from Amazon due to this being a scam, so he had to track down a copy from a fan who had actually received it. When he finished reading the book he posted a public apology to all of Izzys/Ju Ju Hounds fans saying that had he known it would turn out so poorly he would never have accepted the interview offer in the first place.

Whilst Slashs biography does contain errors they are NOT similiar to the errors in the book about Izzy. If you can track down a copy of the Izzy book, good luck considering only ~15 people own it, you will agree with my opinion I guarantee you.

edit: sorry elmir, that rant wasn't aimed at you if thats how it came across (due to me quoting you). That whole Izzy scam really pissed me off, it obviously still does 16

I downloaded this ages ago, apologies to the original ripper/uploader but I can't remember who it was. Anyway, re-uploaded this for anyone who may want to see it:

Hard N' Heavy | Guns N Roses @ Rock In Rio 2
Filename: Hard N' Heavy Video 246DEF.wmv
File Size: 57.1Mb
Video Length: 30 Mins 24 Seconds.

Download Link : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1UMKK1H0

It's basically a documentary about GNR whilst they were in Rio. Features a fuckin awesome solo vocal of Axl performing "Coma" at Soundcheck (for like 15 seconds 16)

Matt Sorums first performance with GNR, infront of 170k fans 9

This download section needs a kick up the ass ! (uploading "night in the jungle" documentary now)

Anyone can feel free to drop me a PM if they need it resizing for other boards, text removed/changing etc.

I'm still practising with Paint Shop Pro so if anyone has a request for a Xmas-GNR-themed avatar post up the images you want using and I'll give it a shot. Apologies in advance if it turns out crap though 18

I love everything about Xmas big_smile I was planning to make a Xmas themed skin for the site and include some cheesy "falling snow" effect on the homepage. Time has got the better of me though I'm afraid, I'll have to save that little treat for next Christmas much to the delight of DTJ and james I'm sure 14

#1706 Re: Management » Pages » 915 weeks ago

I've found the issue now so I'll revert back to the old URL's whilst I fix this smile Many thanks for pointing out the error CC

#1707 Re: Management » Pages » 915 weeks ago

I seem to have noticed this too, I'm looking for the fix now smile

If you go to Page 1 of the topic you should be able to press "2" to go to Page 2. Trying to jump to far, for example jumping from page 1 to page 4, seems to be the problem.

From within a forum you can also try clicking on the "Last Reply" link in the end column. That should jump you to the last page, where you can scroll up.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I'm working to fix this now and believe the board will be better with friendly URL's, as they're known.

Note however that both Duff and Izzy (as solo artists) were dropped from the label during the shuffle, which is why Duff's Beautiful Disease never saw the light of day.

I've always wondered why Duffs Beautiful Disease album never came out. If he was dropped during the reshuffling would this have prevented him from shopping the album to other labels? It was a strong album imo, should have been officially released.

Izzy only had a two album deal with Geffen (Ju Ju Hounds / 117) so by the time the reshuffle happened he would have already walked from the label. He mentions the two album deal in this podcast with TuneCore. Given the state of the music industry at present I'm not surprised he hasn't found another label, especially with his rock-ethics preventing him doing any kind of promotion or touring 16

Yeah, that letter was absurd. It said fans were to blame for no CD because Axl had to monitor the forums to keep everyone in line.

I was shocked that Axl actually approved of such a letter being sent out.

I'd love to see that. Can someone post it up here or in a new topic for all to read?

If not, please PM it to me big_smile
