It's really fantastic and obviously inspired by Michael Jackson. I don't think it's any coincidence his best work of the past three or four years has been the MJ inspired stuff.
Makes you weep to think what could've happened if they'd worked together.

Oh, and Beggars and Hangers-On.

It really is deeply odd seeing Slash with his hair pulled back, sporting a different hat and playing something other than a Les Paul...

I don't think the old guys need to bother replicating a Gold album by Axl's solo band.
If they're gonna do that, then Axl needs to sing lead vocals on Slither[...]
Um, I'd kinda like to hear Axl singing on Slither, at least. And maybe By The Sword.

For the GnR Evo guitar players.
Guns N' Roses Richard Fortus on AmpliTube iRig - "the most exciting thing to happen to the iPhone"
That is fucking sweet. I'm getting one of those widgets and the app, I can finally get my electric guitar out of mothballs and bring it up to my tiny, tiny room in London.
#1716 Re: The Sunset Strip » Nolan Talks 'Superman' and 'Batman 3' » 765 weeks ago
Riddler did seem like a slightly obvious choice for Batman 3, given Nolan's love of puzzle-box storytelling.
Here's what I'd do, were I Nolan:
I know she's tainted in the eyes of the WB suits by that Halle Berry film, but a Catwoman/Riddler combo would make all kinds of sense. Neither of them are "weird" villains, they're both rooted in the real world and so fit into the Nolanverse.
Riddler would allow Nolan to go to town with his puzzle-box scriptwriting, while Catwoman would work as an interesting mirror to Batman. Recast her as the dominatrix-call-girl-turned-cat-burglar from Frank Miller's Year One - a Robin Hood figure, stealing from the corrupt rich - and you've got an interesting prospect. Both Catwoman and Batman are fighting crime, but are they doing it out of a sense of justice or personal gratification?
It wouldn't hurt to have a female character in there, too, since Nolan killed off the only woman in the franchise in The Dark Knight.
So, you have Catwoman targeting the corrupt rich - and going after Bruce Wayne, a billionaire who - as far as she knows - sinks his money into the development of weapons technology. He's profoundly damaged after Rachel's death, picking up party girls like Selina Kyle - but he connects with her, for some reason. She's casing the joint, of course, and uncovers some vital piece of evidence that points to him being Batman, though she doesn't realise its significance.
Meanwhile, you have a John-Doe-from-Seven-type Riddler operating in the background, obsessed with uncovering the mystery of the Batman's identity. Which places Catwoman in danger, and neatly allows her to fulfil the role of the anti-heroine.
Zoe Saldana for Catwoman, obviously.
I'll take my cheque now, please.

...anyone have the instrumental audio tracks? I'd be curious to hear them without various wannabes singing over them.
#1718 Re: Guns N' Roses » How can GNR fans possibly be "AGAINST a reunion? » 766 weeks ago
I don't want to see a reunion where all parties involved aren't 100% behind it. Given that Axl has called Slash a "cancer" and that he's said that one of them will die before there's a reunion, I'd say that's pretty unlikely.
Frankly, I'd rather have Velvet Revolver touring with a good singer, and Axl happy and playing with his current band - who are good friends who've stood by him for years - than see him and Slash standing at opposite sides of a stage, glaring at each other, just to satisfy fans' need for a reunion.

I'm happy for Axl and Duff, that they were able to sit down and reminisce on good terms - and doubly happy that Duff respects the new band and doesn't want to muscle in on their turf.

If there was a true "all-five" reunion, the only one of these three who might have to go is Tommy. Dizzy is UYI "original" in that he wasn't replacing anybody to join, and Pitman is completely off in his own category, so wouldn't be in anyone's way.
Yeah, but that presupposes that Slash and co wouldn't want to strip the band back down to just five members. Both Slash and Izzy seem to prefer playing in a guitar-driven setup, without all the keyboards and orchestral doohickeys that Axl likes.
