Velvet Underground & Nico - There She Goes.
I'm wishing I had some pot now though Whenever I listen to this album I end up craving the stuff.

Movie: Die Hard 4.
Music: It should have been a good year for new music for me but can't help feeling disappointed. Ryan Adams put out his worst solo album to date (Easy, Tiger), Jesse Malin proved that his songwriting will never again be on par with that of "fine art of self destruction" by releasing "glitter in the gutter". The GNR leaks were exciting to witness online but the only songs I still listen to are Better and Madagascar. The Detroit Cobras released a so-so album "Tied and True" and Izzy of course served up "Miami" and "Fire"; both of which I enjoyed. In all honesty the only albums I wasn't disappointed by this year were the two Izzy released and I suspect that is because he underplays the releases.
Sport: What's that? England & Scotland getting knocked out of Euro 08 was yet another disappointment for me.

Funeral For a Friend by Elton John is the best song on that list, hands down.
Clearly you must have overlooked Heroin by Velvet Undergound

and yeah, anyone here on the board who happens to be in vegas, feel free to hit me up. i'm much more laid back in person than I am on a GnR board surrounded by Slash fans.
Same here, if any of you guys happen to be in Dundee, Scotland let me know
The only GNR fans I've met in person were Jarmo, Christos and Adz. They were all pretty sound though
#1726 Re: Guns N' Roses » How will the delays effect C.D.'s sales? » 916 weeks ago
You make valid points, but you wanna know how GNR have treated all those "friends"? Every single time one of those "friends" likes a song that has nothing to do with the old band and puts a 1999-2007 era song on their profile, GNR has that fans song and/or myspace profile deleted immediately.
Great way to treat your "friends". They wont even allow people to like the new band. You can only like songs from the 87-93 period or your nothing to them. The GNR myspace page's only real purpose is to help sell copies of the old band's discography, and that aint no lie.
Oh shit I forgot about Tsunami terrorising GNR fans who posted links to new songs Yet another great move by the GNR family.....

I picked up on a few of you mentioning that he needs a good marketing budget but I personally don't buy that. He could easily get the ball rolling for free....
His first step should be MySpace. Guns N Roses has 300855 friends.
To put that in perspective:
HTGTH has 8442 members.
MyGNR has a respectable 29,153 members, but still nowhere near the amount on mySpace.
Just because the GNR fanboards are quiet doesn't mean there is no interest in GNR.
Axl should be throwing Chi Dem down the throats of his "myspace friends" and having them spread the word for him. The hype hasn't died completely, its just stagnating. Axl can easily turn this around by offering some catchy single-material for free.
MySpace is here to stay (unfortunately) and Axl is in a position to abuse it. Abuse the fuck out of it until every single one of those 'friends' has bought a concert ticket, piece of merchandise, referred a friend, downloaded some tunes or dare I say it .... bought Chinese Democracy on CD.
Out of those 300,000+ friends I wonder how many are magazine publications that will mention the free downloads in a printed form? If Axl plans on doing interviews to promote ChiDem he probably has 50-100 magazine editors listed as 'friends'. I'm sure they'd be willing to grant him space on the cover in return for an interview
Anyway, thats how I see it
#1728 Re: The Garden » jarmos myspace page » 916 weeks ago
WTF? Negative reputation for saying that the topic should be locked and the URL removed? Bit harsh isn't it
I thought all forums had an unspoken rule that bashing of other forums/admins was not condoned?
I'm not a fan of Hell myself, deleted my account a few weeks ago after reading the "Errors in Slashs Book" thread, but I wouldn't feel the need to create a myspace page dedicated to Jarmo just to bash him. I also disagree that such a page should be promoted. I'm not a fan of how Jarmo runs his site these days but I have a lot more respect for him than I ever will for a couple of idiots who take 10 minutes to make a shitty myspace page.
I'm not convinced the EatMySilkworms guys are behind this. I've never even seen them over at Hell in the 3-4 years I was a member there, I only saw them at mygnrforum where no mention of this myspace page seems to exist. Eric hopefully had the sense to remove it.

Yeah, you sure showed me. How are those IP bannings working there for you ? Lol !! Hey DTJ, if you don't have the sense to figure out how to do it, send me a PM and I'll let you know how. In the meantime, why don't you bore us with one of your stories about how you work in broadcasting, or ..................................
Chow.bba
If banning by IP address isn't working then it isn't DTJ fault, it's mine. I don't have time to check over every line of code to make sure everything functions correctly all day long due to my having a life.
Clearly though the banning by IP address does work - otherwise you wouldn't have had to use a different IP address each time you registered. We've only had to ban 6 accounts on this board so far, 3 of those belonged to you I believe.
Whilst I personally didn't mind a majority of your posts it's obvious you've been stirring trouble judging by the number of complaints received specifically about you. You've been banned from all major GNR sites (on more than one occasion) which must surely tell you something.
You'll no doubt re-register and manage to post a few times before being banned again. All you're doing is wasting our time and your own. Please just give up and move on to another GNR forum. Prove that you can be a valuable member to a GNR community by not being banned and the staff here may consider lifting this ban - by that time you probably won't even want to come back here.

50Mb FLAC file from the second Wembley Arena show last year. Rose had disappeared due to "illness" so Bach took lead vocals for Paradise City.
Anyone know if DVD's of either of these London performances ever surfaced? I've seen some footage of the acoustic show but wanting either of the main gigs
