I'm too stoned to bother looking now, but there are a couple interviews(more of course but two which are great examples) where Slash is the main focal point, and he was supposed to be talking about the new era.
Whenever you read interviews with Axl and ex members, I want you to see if you notice the pattern: Slash or any other member has to be baited in to discussing Axl or GNR, while Axl will bring up Slash even when its not asked or even necessary.
I'll look for those at mygnr later today.

Yeah, but Bo was a running machine during his career. There will always be a huge 'What if?" asterisk next to his name. Sad thing is that he was on a mediocre team at the time. Put him with the Broncos during that time, and Elway gets at least one ring in the 80's.
He would have been great with the Skins as well. Maybe even Seattle during that small window of opportunity they had in the mid 80's.

I've accepted the fact the "milking" of AFD will never stop, regardless of any lineup changes now or in the future. Its too late for Axl's vision(if he ever even had one) to come to fruition and establish two entirely separate entities of GNR. If he was going to do that, it would've had to be done back in the late 90's when the new GNR era started.
Had there been a real plan, and that plan actually been put into action and not just talk, new GNR would already have 3 or 4 albums in its discography, and not only would not need to rely on 87-93 material, but would in essence be its own band. The public would have totally bought into Axl's vision, and the old band would be a footnote. A large one, but the band could have easily existed on its own merit.
The best we can hope for now is some sort of middle ground. The album needs to come out, for several reasons. To satisfy the hardcore base that has been loyal and stood by him for years, to get the monkey off his back, to let these songs have a chance to be heard by the masses, and to show the world that he did have some sort of vision and the disintegration of the old band wasn't for nothing.
Then of course when they tour, you will still get the hits package. Difference being that with an album in stores and GNR actually being in the spotlight, interest in these tours by hardcore and casual fans will increase, regardless of what is being played.

Interesting group of ten that made it. Good to see Thurman Thomas getting the respect he always deserved. Bo Jackson making it was a bit of a surprise. Will be interesting to see how well he stacks up against these incredible RBs.
There were quite a few RBs tied for that last spot, and I didn't want to do a tie breaker nomination poll(I'm sure you guys didn't either). The way I decided to break the tie was whoever out of those tied had the most SB rings made it. That's how Roger Craig made it. Had I went by actual yards rushing, Curtis Martin would have made it. Tough call either way.
Tough choice right from the start. I am gonna have to go with Marshall Faulk. Sure he's great, but so is everyone on this list. I always considered him like a second rate Thurman Thomas. I didn't really follow Faulk's career, but I would not be surprised if Thurman was the person he tried to emulate. Pretty similar styles. Also, you have to weigh the impact each of these guys had on their team while they played, and their impact on the league as a whole. Faulk developed into a great player later on, and out of these guys, I think the team could have continued without him. That great Rams team probably would have won that SB without him.

Thats the truth. Which is pretty pathetic. However, he gets baited into those questions. Never brings it up on his own. World War III could be happening, and someone from the GNR camp would yell Slash from the highest mountaintop.
I just wish they could get their priorities straight. The music is too good to throw that away and waste time on small fish.

Axl having his lawyer claim an incident that can never be proven. This accusation was so lame, they had to send out 2 press releases. One without the Slash shit to society, and one with the Slash shit to GNR communities.
Almost every interview in the CD era.
Beta's constant posts, PMs, and now phone calls about Slash.
The resurrection of the Slash incident after March 6th when the next thing we were supposed to hear was some sort of CD update. What does Slash have to do with Chinese Democracy?
Dizzy's lame interview in 05(although this interview was fishy).
That Alan Niven statement in early 06.
There have been fewer Chinese Democracy mentions by GNR or people associated with GNR than there have been about Slash.

It is wierd for them to be upset about Slash so many years on. But then i guess theres a personal level to it as well - like Axl and Slash were friends as well as co-workers, and when friendships fall appart it can stick to you.
If thats the case, why hasn't Slash bitched about Axl for 12 years? Because he moved on.
If Axl/GNR weren't obsessed with him, he wouldn't come up constantly.
Its never the time for any CD news, but its always the time for Slash mentions?
At least we know the captain of this ship is steering it correctly.:haha:

It does? Have you read Beta's posts? Or maybe take a crash course on the happenings over the past two years(minus the AFD tours of course)? Its par for the course.

Well, too much Slash shit coming from the GNR camp over the years, regardless of the MSL-Beta conversation. This just reinforces it. Remember, earlier this year after March 6th, instead of talking about CD the GNR camp resurrected that whole Slash going to his house bullshit. No one but the GNR camp cared.
I dont understand the anger/obsession/frustration with Slash. He moved on 12 years ago.
This band cant move on living under the shadow of a top hat. Sad but true.
Its really no surprise that Buckethead bailed. Who wants to sit around talking about someone who hasn't been in the band since the mid 90's?
