#171 Re: Guns N' Roses » Trent Blasts Axl In New Interview » 838 weeks ago
To me this is like one dude bitching (Trent) that his girlfriend (Robin) keeps sneaking off and giving some asshole (Axl) blowjobs.
Except in this case, the girlfriend is ugly. (can't play guitar)

I'm not depressed about this or taking it too seriously or missing Slash.
I just don't like the mood or tone the band is increasingly taking, towards melancholy themselves.
The burn out vs. fade away thing.
And I don't think Axl has anything left in him that isn't deriative of some of his earlier work.
Not trying to offend, not trying to bait, just have a different viewpoint, and I can respect where others are coming from, and actually hold positions that I used to, or may possibly hold in the future.

LOL, Neemo.

I know I might be in the minority here, but I really don't want to hear anything else from this era. It's been major letdown, after major letdown in almost every way.
That being said, I don't know what I would want to hear from Axl and the new guys or the old guys and Axl.
Maybe announce retirement, play one gig with the old band, and disappear forever. Or not, maybe just retirement, without any fanfare.
#175 Re: Guns N' Roses » A discussion about some older lyric meanings? » 841 weeks ago
Lyrically, I always found Breakdown to be Axl's best.
To me it's an admission of guilt, an admission of being fucked up and accepting it and attempting to understand it.
The whole "Warming hands to a different fire and getting burned" by that fire, is an interesting take on coping behaviors and maladaptation.
As a whole, the Illusions seemed to be a requiem and salute to losing their hunger and anger.
This song along with the line in "Coma" of "It's easy to be hungry when you ain't got shit to lose"...
Behind anger is generally sadness, and the anger at this time may have been
finally allowing the sadness to come through.
Anyway, enough blah, blah, blah...point is "Breakdown" is lyrically amazing.

I find this complimentary blowjob tour idea fascinating.
Tell us more, James.

Yes, it was.
(Well, I liked it anyway.)

This sounds great!
I'm looking forward to this!

Man, I gotta get on retainer to be in this clusterfuck of a band.
Do nothing, get wealthy.
I'll be the guitarist in the videos. I think I can handle Finck's solos. I've been playing for about two weeks now.

I heard Welcome to the Jungle at a AA baseball game.
The tour is on!
