2012 is the year Guns are eligible for induction.
Oh yeah and, I too feel this year is the year CD finally emerges (officially or leaked).

Classic Rock just tracked down Duff McKagan, Velvet Revolver bassist, and quizzed him about VR singer Scott Weiland's recent 'antics'.
Here's what Duff had to say:
On the Sundance Festival:
'I sang It's So Easy and I Wanna Be Your Dog and then we were panicking a bit over what to play so Matt [Sorum] got up and sang Patience, Matt's a great singer, he really is. Why wasn't Scott there? Scott missed his plane, yeah, let's say that, Scott missed his plane'¦'
On Stone Temple Pilots re-forming:
'That's the rumour that I've heard too, good for him. You can't plan ahead in this thing and if you do you're going to be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I love playing live and we love this band, but I don't have expectations any more. This is a great band and I'm proud to be a part of it, but it doesn't define me any more.'
Stay tuned for further developments
---------
Not good. Let's see if Weiland shows tonight, maybe another member won't (Duff?).
#173 Re: Guns N' Roses » New Info regarding CD » 937 weeks ago
sorry to bring up HTGTH again, but when asked as to where the thread went to, jarmo had this to say:
The information itself is nothing new, the magazine's name is just different.
Classic Rock reaches a new low in their eternal quest of publishing GN'R news....
This is what's tearing my goddamn optimism away from this news. Jarmo is trying to shut it out like Beta never said it. Is he mad because Classic Rock is getting the scoop or is this all a hoax?
It's weird, GN'R doesn't update us, but whatever Jarmo is saying is probably what Beta says to him, which comes straight from "King Dick's" mouth. Bizarre and untrustworthy GN'R forumland we live in, unfortunately.
#174 Re: Guns N' Roses » If there is a reunion, where do people stand? » 948 weeks ago
Here's how I want it:
2008 - Chinese Democracy, huge tours whole year
2009 - Reunion in Summer
A perfect world.

Happy birthday Robin! Love ''Better'' and ''The Blues'' solo!
Hopefully you guys tour the US again in 2008 and finally bring Chinese Democracy. Have a good one.

Is Mysteron even legit anymore? I'm sick of his be-as-vague-as-humanly-possible gimmick.

This sounds cool, but, we seriously can't ask him about Chinese Democracy? Or ask (something like) what is his favorite new song to play live? Not anything too revealing.
I'll be there. ROV is awesome for doing this, btw.
#178 Re: Guns N' Roses » Libertad Fails - Will nuGNR follow? » 951 weeks ago
I don't know, I think alot of people want to hear what Axl has up his sleeve. It's not like he's old, he's still relatively young (45), and his voice still has an audience (the ones I mentioned before, MTV, RS). It's definitely an uphill battle, but like James said, with the right first single, it could hit up sales well.
Just look at how many people comment on Axl and the new band -- whether it'd be the new songs on YouTube, the hundred Chinese Democracy articles on Rolling Stone.com, etc. His image will reflect record sales, I think. MTV will give him air time, no doubts there. That'll help. Fuse would also help though.

It will defintiely sell more than Libertad. Absolutely.
Look at it this way, MTV cares - they are gonna promote it (award shows, Axl appearances, the Kurt Loder factor). Rolling Stone definitely cares - they are going to promote all over their website, their magazine (cover, articles, reviews). The curiousity factor with casual fans who have been waiting a LONG time will buy it.
It most definitely will not live up to 14 years of work, but, it won't bomb. It'll sell well, me thinks.
#180 Re: Guns N' Roses » Where should GNR tour next? » 952 weeks ago
Yeah, I reeeeaaally hate the silent periods when they aren't touring, but I guess once a release date is set, we'll get a few tours again.
Seeing them in places like The Warfield or The Joint are seriously some of the greatest concerts you'll ever go to. Seeing your favorite band THAT close is sick. Give me more, plz.
