An open letter to our fans:

The staff of the former ROV regrets to announce that the following features have been cancelled:

the who is viewing a topic

Due to the quick attempt to restore a defunct site online, valuable time needed by the  staff and the ISP  for the proper setup and release of the new site (insert new name here) would be lost. Rather than delay

..........

Once again, our sincere apologies and our deepest thanks. All the best to each and every one of you over this holiday season, thank-you and God bless.

Sincerely,
James Lofton

Four discs = approx. 4 hours of music @ 1hr per disc.

Whenever Axl steps into the studio I'd wager everything will be recorded, and I assume Axl records a shit load of demos at his home too even if it's in a rough format. Even if Axl has only worked one day per year for the last 10 years there is going to be at least 100+ hours (80+ discs) of recorded shit locked up somewhere. That would be Axl working at the slowest rate possible too, 1 day out of every 365.

My guess is that the four discs are four finished versions of Chinese Democracy, each containing the occasional different track worked amongst the expected includes like CD, Better, Madagascar, The Blues and IRS. Axl can rework songs, mix up the ordering of songs and generally take this project in any musical direction he wants. Buckethead presumably sampled hundreds of hours worth of guitar fills and solos for the album alone, with any and every genre of music Axl may have wanted.

Certain people in his circle have no doubt heard plenty of this material, and they will be the ones who give Axl feedback on each version of the album.

Axl can 'cut and paste' Chinese Democracy to his hearts content but there will only be one disc labelled as Chinese Democracy. We just have to pray that Axl marries some golddigger who will shamelessly press and package hours of this material as "Special Edition" releases of the album a few days after Uncle Axl pops his clogs 14

I changed it for the Bumblefoot chat (twice in the space of 24 hours if you must know tongue ) but can change it as often as needed smile

If anyone thinks a discussion is worth bringing to users attention just reply here and I can put something together. Ideally it would be discussions that encourage non-members to sign up and get involved.

There'll be a new one added when the new name is unveiled, and as more features are added to the site. Should maybe do one for the Axl/Sebastien leaks but not sure if we should openly promote those discussions with the site in such an infancy. Don't want to be shut down lol.

All ideas welcome... currently have three Ads rotating but can increase that if worthwhile? Might increase loading times having to download each large image. Considering installing some Analytics software so I can monitor details of users on the site - ie browsers used, screen resolution size, time to download pages etc. Should be able to optimize the site fully, though would some of you consider it an invasion of privacy if I captured these details?

Hopefully it won't be the last chat with a band member smile I did suggest to Ron that he call Axl and tell him how awesome this site was but he didn't reply to that one lol

#1799 Re: The Garden » oink.cd shut down » 922 weeks ago

www.tv-links.co.uk has been closed down too, and the admin arrested.

Tvlinks didnt host any files either, it simply let users submit links to video files stored on video sharing sites like youtube. It is a fuckin joke that youtube are allowed to continue hosting millions of illegal videos and sites like tvlinks that haven't broken any laws are closed down.

The case will have to be dropped and site re-opened in my opinion. Law enforcement will have to go after Google next if they want youtube closed. Haha good luck with that hmm
