"I Love You, Man"

I really liked this movie. I'm a big Paul Rudd fan and I laughed out loud. Recommended.

I posted this in the VR section. I didn't think we were covering Slash in the GN'R section now.

DJ Ashba's in Nikki Sixx's Sixx:A.M. project. He's a really cool player. The news could honestly be worse.

Drummer Jimmy Chamberlin has left the Smashing Pumpkins!

Again!

Granted, the first time around in 1996 was a little different, you know, on account of the drug addiction and the touring keyboardist's overdose.

Anyway!

Frontman Billy Corgan announced on his website that he has plans to "continue to write and record as Smashing Pumpkins," even though the megalomaniac is the only original member left in the group!

Corgan has plans to start recording a new Pumpkins album with the with the fresh line-up in the spring.

This really is too bad. I always liked Billy Corgan and the Pumpkins in particular. I personally thought "Zeitgeist" was one of their best efforts thus far. I'm also a big fan of Jimmy's drumming. Even though my perhaps favorite Pumpkins album is the Chamberlin-less "Adore," he really made the releases he was on. This band continues to discintegrate around Corgan's ego.

Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash (real name: Saul Hudson) has commented on a recently published interview with GN'R singer Axl Rose in which he describes the top-hatted axeman as "a cancer."

Addressing the possibility of a reunion of GUNS N' ROSES' classic lineup, Rose said in a friendly chat with his pal, songwriter Del James, that was posted on AOL Music's Spinner.com web site, that it was "highly doubtful for us to have more than one of the alumni up with us at any given time."

"I suppose (former bass player) Duff (McKagan) could play guitar on something somewhere but there's zero possibility of me having anything to do with Slash," Rose said.

"In a nutshell, personally I consider him a cancer and better removed, avoided — and the less anyone heard of him or his supporters the better."

Speaking to Doug Elfman of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Slash confirmed that he had heard about Rose's latest tirade. "But you know, it's one of those things with him," Slash said. "It doesn't really affect me at all. At this point, it's starting to become a little bit — he's just sort of like — whatever."

Slash added, "It's been a long time. The fact that [Axl] has anything to say at all — it's like, 'Whatever, dude.' It doesn't really matter."

This just in...

The brother of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan is facing murder and kidnapping charges following his arrest by FBI agents in Chicago, Illinois last month.

Matthew Francis Nolan, who was also under investigation by Chicago authorities over his alleged involvement in a $700,000 (£486,100) bank fraud scheme, was taken into custody on suspicion of the 2005 killing of Florida businessman Robert C. Cohen.

The warrant for his arrest was originally issued in Costa Rica, where 40-year-old Nolan was reportedly posing as Cohen's potential business partner. However, authorities claim Nolan was actually hired to recover the $7 million (£4.86 million) Cohen owed another Florida mogul.

He and his accomplice, Douglas Mejia, allegedly kidnapped Cohen and attempted to extort the cash from his family. Costa Rican officials allege the pair murdered the businessman when the bribe failed.

Mejia has already been convicted for his involvement, while Nolan is being held in Chicago until he can be extradited and tried for the charges, according to the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper.
