#181 Re: Guns N' Roses » How much of the board actually believes a reunion will happen? » 504 weeks ago
My issue believing it is that nothing points towards it. Slash either denies it or refuses to talk about it, since he keeps getting asked.
Pittman has been spending alot of time with Axl, presumably according to Twitter/Instagram over the past few months. Slash keeps publicly making plans for next year.
None of the media have any reliable sources. There was the Rock In Rio one from a Portuguese paper that cited the Independent which cited a frickin low brow (click bait) tabloid.
Axl's stance may have eased against Slash, but even if it has. What would Axl's real interest be in it? I don't think Axl really needs the money. I'm sure Izzy would be fine with more money and playing a few shows with his friends, but I doubt anything past it. Adler would ruin it the next day even if everything was all great. He'd say something and Axl would be off.
Axl would just be making himself a target during this tour even if he showed on time at every show. Anything that goes wrong would be blamed on him.

"Well, you will get to see them next year"
This is not all he said right? Cuz this could also simply imply that Adler might be opening for Slash on a tour in '15.

Its funny how GNR fans act like they cant do both. Obviously aren't many Soundgarden fans paying attention. SG members do solo albums and tours in between Soundgarden albums and tours.
Why would they wanna do both? And that more or less at the same time? When a reunion happens, it's gonna be the biggest thing not only for us fans, but also for them. It will completely consume then on both an emotional and physical level. Why bother with solo efforts at the same time? No disrespect to Soundgarden. They're a great band, but they do not nearly get the same kind of attention that a reunited GN'R would get. That comparison is apples and oranges.
In regards to wanting to believe, I would be thrilled about a reunion too. Although I'd personally prefer to hear CD2 first, I would never actively root against a reunion. Better it happens with CD2 getting burried than not at all. Still, I also don't wanna get my hopes up for nothing. The Slash interview was huge - and I get that everybody went reunion crazy after that. But until either Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy or official management make some kind of indication that this is actually going to happen, I won't believe it. Sorry.

If it were already in motion, he wouldn't continue to talk about his solo stuff and his immidiate plans to put a new record out next year.
It is not happening (yet).

It might happen at some point. But not in 2016.
The writing for the next record, Slash said, is 90 percent completed. It would be his third album with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators (the others being “Apocalyptic Love” in 2012 and last year’s “World on Fire”).
“The stuff for the next record is really great,” Slash said of the material. “One of the cool things about this band is that instead of peaking early and burning out is we’ve started at one place and escalated in terms of our creative inspiration.
“It keeps getting better from record to record which is a really nice thing to have happen so yeah, we just seem to get more in a groove the longer we stay together and the harder we work on the road and so on. It just seems to come out in the new material.”
Always looking ahead, Slash has planned his moves after the tour ends.
“Next is finishing pre-production on the next album and going into the studio in the spring,” he said. “I’ve also got ‘The Hell Within’ to shoot sometime in the beginning of the new year so that’s the immediate stuff.”

But from Brain's story, Tommy was the one who ok'd him for the gig...Bucket brought him but Tommy vetted him. Tommy knew Richard as well before Richard joined so I am sure he had some say in that decision.
Yes, Tommy is the one who suggested Richard in the first place

When Frank was auditioned didn't Axl have absolutely nothing to do with it?
Yes, Tommy and Richard brought him in. Apparently he didn't even properly talk to Axl until after his first show...
#189 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Pretty good VR show I had never seen » 506 weeks ago
I personally would love the hear the demos with Jeff Angell (pre-Weiland). VR would have been a completely different band, but for sure very interesting

James Lofton wrote:Maddy. If it was the Rio version I'd consider keeping it in. Its not though and out of the songs left this song has Axl's worst vocals.
Even though I disagree with you, well as far as voting this off before I.R.S and the title track. Here's Axl's explanation on the vocals for those that never saw it.

Thank you for that. I haven't seen/heard that before. So, Madagascar is inspired by The Old Man and the Sea? Makes sense. But that's also ironic somehow, given how hard Axl tried to show everyone by bringing back his big fish (i.e. CD) for everyone to see. With the recpetion it got, it almost seems like he returned empty handed as well
