Yeah I think its Peter Scaturro who works for Sony Interactive these days.
In a way the Absurd/Hardschool model of seperate releases works well for the diverse styles.
Like then we don't have to worry if an 'Eye On You' type song goes with an 'Oh My God' song and if that should be before or after a 'State of Grace' or a 'Perhaps'.
I just wish all the songs with vocals would be finished and properly released.

It's GNR so they could do anything, but you would assume it will be more of the hits setlist and less of the new and deep cuts.
Totally off topic but I just listened to the dance remix of of TIL. Honestly those are some mind blowing vocals, and it gets me thinking, he didn't release this take officially. It makes you wonder what else is world endingly good that just never sees the light of day.
Like I think TIL is a work of genius and those scream vocals are etherial. That sounds dramatic but seriously it's under appreciated to a criminal extent.

I really want to hear an updated version that potentially has some Buckethead additions. He could've done something special with it.
It's quite possible when you think of how TWAT was largely extended to incorporate some bucket. And atlas of all the demos seemed like it needed something else structure wise to me to bring it to the boil. Like its a great song but it sort of didn't quite yet amount to what it might to me.
It's interesting that bumble said he played on it too I think.....which would also suggest there's a version with more guitars than what we heard from the locker.

On one hand I was glad they put out TIL as it's one of Axl's greatest works IMO.
On the other hand - if they'd held it back we might get it now with one of slash's awesome live solos he's done on it.
I wonder how many other versions of it exist - the 'brain remix' with the screamy vocals was awesome. Imagine something like that with slash.

Just listened to mysterious soundcheck song #2 and the last minute of Oklahoma again. They sound nothing alike. You people are high.
For me this jam in rehersal:
Sounds kinda like the passage between 0.15 seconds and 0.25 seconds in this:
But I could be wrong

Can somebody explain to me why people think TWAT is so hard to sing? It certainly isn’t as hard as Locomotive or Coma.
As Metalalex said the verses/chorus require a lot of breath control, there's very long passages with no room to take a breath and the melody of the vocal doesn't leave much room for bluffing words.
The real fun and games to me though is the "I would do anything for you" screams in the middle and the end.
The high point of that bit hits around F#5 which is not even possible for most male singers - not only does he hit it but he belts it out with ballbreaking power and intensity and rasp and with a passion that suits the song.
It's towards the top of his range in terms of pitch (maybe not the very top as there's instances of him going even higher in passing) but it's high enough and long enough that one's voice would need to be having a good day and most people just can't do it - let alone in the context of a 3.5 hour vocal marathon.

Him being an unreliable narrator is actually why I want to read it.
We already have the sanitised for press version from Slash, and the reasonable minded business person versions from all the hangers on.
I feel like Axl is more truthful in what he believes to be the truth, even if his perspective is more of an artistic viewpoint and coloured by whatever else he grapples with. Like at times he may be "wrong" compared to an objective rather than subjective interpretation of the facts, but it would be an interesting counter point to the other versions. I feel that mixing both together we would get closer to understanding what happened to each of these guys from their POV.

Also he did the screams on TWAT justice tonight. Worth looking that one up on YouTube.
Indeed!
Tonight he did it closer to the recording than he did in 2014 or 2016 - in those years he used to sing one of the middle screams slightly lower.
But tonight was more like in 2006 or 2009 where he stayed up in that insane range. Or very close to it anyways.
I honestly didn't think it would be possible for him vocally anymore.
Killer stuff.
Between this and soundchecking new stuff and the set list mix up...Band seems to be building up to something here. i'm digging it.

Yeah I think its a backing track of the harmony lines/chorus fills etc.
I noticed they seemed to be using such things at least since melissa came on board.

I used to think that older clip was just Slash/Richard jamming 3 chords, but listening again it does sound like an early part of Oklohoma kinda.
Be interesting if the general surfaced, didn't they use parts of it as an intro at one stage? Unless it's on the list for that reason.
