The more important thing is we don't know if those new 'overdubs' were taken, simply, from alternate takes during the original recording sessions. That's why I PERSONALLY don't think we've heard any post, let's say 2002 or so vox on ANY of the CD material or leaks we've had our hands on thereafter. Obviously I don't have much to draw that conclusion from except for the perceptible change in how he sounds on "Angel Down" and, later, "Rock the Rock"..
I could very well be wrong, like I said, its just my opinion - the problem is we don't have enough of a data set to form a more conclusive one, at this point in time.. who knows, though
No shit it all the leaks basically are from the village session era. Minus the remixes , Shacklers , Scrapped.
But you know this.
You know there are a bunch of uncirculated village session era dics.
The way you use certain language in your post reminds me of another individual.
I'm coming at you directly not trying to be rude but hoping you want to share with the community a proper history lesson.
We can all see that players at the table again. the last go around in 2019 wasn't what it appeared. The question is how the river card plays out this time.
Ps the Patrice documentary disappointed me.
If Monsters is infact Robin on there and not Slash it would not suprise me if it was from the Village sessions the ones without BH on them.

I think Ron’s goal was to release the “old stuff” and record new songs for a new album, which was never gonna happen for him. I can see Slash wanting something similar, the difference being Slash is getting songwriting credit on the “old stuff.”
Totally agree
Did Ron get no writing credits on CD? Not a one?
Edit: Nope. Answered my own question.
No, bc he just re did solos

This isn't going to create some giant egg on their face moment or affect ticket sales. It's purely giving something to your most loyal fans who likely are going to buy it come hell or high water.
This all could've been done and dusted years ago. Reach an agreement with New Gn'R members, drop an EP of 2 CD leftovers and 2 live tracks every leg, and repeat. Hold back the most commercial songs for lead singles for new tours and repeat.
But as Dave said, this band is managed by the pool boy whose chief duty is massaging the ego of the boy prince.
The reason why no one cares is bc it does not sound like AFD Gnr. Its just Slash and Duffs take on the CD era stuff
Until they all actualy write new stuff together that sounds like classic GNR, no one will care. They will never sound like AFD again, and that's OK
Yet that is what all the fans want, that sound for new songs or they will never be happy

You mention the Bumblefoot version and I think a lot of people think of that as the remix, but if you look at his description it doesn't fit that at all. Brain was asked to work on six remixes for the band one of which one of which clearly was Oh My God. Bizarrely this has been largely forgotten by people.
It doesn't surprise me if it's out there, but it does surprise me it hasn't leaked.
the BBF version of oh my god did leak I thought
I have it or is that not itThat did yes. But if you listen to it it does not match Axl's description at all.
The version that leaked is a a mono version of the song panned to the hard right channel and BBF guitar take panned hard left.
That is not a remix. With the remix Axl mentions new vocals (& a lot of them). There are no new vocals on the BBF leak at all.
my guess is that version is the one they gave to Ron so he can learn his guitar parts
that is why it was panned so weird

I still can’t get over what a colossal clusterfuck this entire release has been. Why would you tack on two of the most sought after and anticipated tracks of the CD era to a B-side for a vinyl single? They’re better than Hardskool and way better than Absurd. The press was great for Perhaps, he has goodwill with the media, The General would have been heralded because of the child abuse aspect. Whoever is making these decisions needs to step back and get someone in there who has an actual plan and knows how to execute it.
The leaks were the only good thing that came from this. They screwed up every step of this process. They can blame the vinyl plant, but these songs should never have been released like this to begin with
because a house keeper and pool boy are running the band lol

The newest Axl vocals we know 100% are new are the rock the rock song from loony toons
Also the whole thing about the perhaps vocal track, isn't really when any new vocals are from, but if its the same basical vocal track or if it was an alt take of the vocals.
The main vocal track in perhaps released with slash and duff on to, sounds exactly the same to me as the leaked version with BH and Robin.

dave-gnfnr wrote:Dont forget there are like 50 versions of song
Even look at the title track and how many slight vocal versions there are of it.
The first first leak we got, that had just the lower axl voice and with the head was your ass ending
then we had the one where he added the higher vocal over that version with the with your arms reach up for your help ending
plus we have the ones on the village where its the same vocal track as the first leak but has the talking in the introJust because the hey hey may sound different on perhaps does not mean the main vocal track isnt different
Like you said in TWAT its the same vocal take except Axl had an overdub for the wrong time part of the chorus, it does not mean the whole vocal track is different
I agree, same vocal take, but I just said that "Wrong Time" may have been added later on in 2000s as a way to "make it better" or God knows why
On the wrong time part, I was more talking to the other guy, meaning just because one tiny part of the song may have a new vocal overdub, does not mean the whole vocal track is new

I really I wish chose a different more fan-friendly band to obsess over, but where’s the fun in that right?
if only GNR was like pearl jam
I love Pearl Jam, and while I find their first few albums untouchable, they kinda lost me over the years in the direction they went into. I just found it a little uninspiring.
Still a great live act though.
oh yeah I agree with that part but Pearl Jam is one of the most fan friendly there is, that is more of what I was talking about
