Several Canadian rock stations have posted this image of what appears to be the day they plan to air it... Remember, Black Sabbath’s new single “God Is Dead” will impact radio by April 23rd via Vertigo/Republic Records (Source: http://www.allaccess.com/rock/future-releases). Impact means every station should have it on or before that day. I think the premiere is imminent, as some of the larger markets here may already have the single.

Another new single will make its debut on the ‘CSI’ Season Finale... Rolling Stone reports that the band will premiere the record’s leadoff single, ‘End of the Beginning,’ during the May 15th episode of the top-rated show that finds stars Ted Danson and Marc Vann investigating a Sabbath concert for clues to “a trail of murders with horrifying similarities to the sins in ‘Dante’s Inferno.’” (Source: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ … e-20130410)

Black Sabbath's new single “God Is Dead” will impact radio by April 23rd via Vertigo/Republic (Source: http://www.allaccess.com/rock/future-releases). Impact means every station should have it on or before that day (some stations in bigger markets may get the single in a week or two).

Satellite radio DJ Jose Mangin and the crew at SiriusXM were the first station to hear the single (Source: http://instagram.com/p/XLeJOVSZSL/). He said "(SiriusXM) the 1st radio station in North America to hear NEW Black Sabbath!!! 'God Is Dead' is 9 minute EPIC heavy sludge spiked with vintage gallop & lyrics that'll take you to hell & back!!! Riff LORD Iommi & Geezer go OFF in last half of track & holy damn perfect Ozzy vocals sounding like Ozzy Sabbath fitting gorgeously in the pocket of the song!!!! We were all blown away by it this evening and big huge massive thanks to John DiMaio from Universal Records for taking this song to the right place... Into the ears of 4 unholy souls who worship at the altar of Black fukkin Sabbath!!!!"

With the track reportedly being NINE minutes long, a radio edit is expected and that's what we may hear first... A shortened version. But, either way, new music from Sabbath coming in April! Who knows, we may have a preview/snippet of the song beforehand, as the band has been rather clever at providing little details around the 13th of each month.

I think it's a pretty shitty way for the band to end, on a sour note. Hurt egos or not, it seems these guys have forgotten who put them on the map... The fans. It sucks for us, the fans who liked and enjoyed their music. From a business perspective, their recent tour didn't profit much. At all. I know a few promoters in both smaller and larger markets and they've said they couldn't fill the venues and probably wouldn't work with the band anytime soon, but never say never. After promoting the hell out of each show, their ticket sales still remained frozen overall. The late starts never helped these guys out for the better, either. So, in some ways, they've brought the bad press upon themselves.

Call me crazy, but if the DeLeo brothers honestly think they can replace Scott on vocals while continuing to use the STP name, is ridiculous. The same would apply if they were to have lost either Eric, Dean or Robert... Each member of the band brought their own specific touch to the band, that of which no one could ever replicate. Without Scott, STP is finished. Time to think of a new name, and go from there. Sure, some bands could keep the name and rediscover popularity again (with luck and if it were done right), however with STP, what other frontman can honestly match up to Scott's level on the bands music (both past and present) or even their live shows for that matter?

I'll always support the guys, no matter what, but STP's done without Weiland on board. It's been a fun ride while it lasted. Until they decide to kiss and make up, I guess it'll look like this for now...

David Bowie celebrated his 66th birthday this morning by releasing a new single and announcing that his first album in 10 years will come out in March. News of a new release from the legendary musician came as a surprise to fans, as Bowie has been out of the public spotlight for years and many assumed he had essentially retired from music.

The new single, "Where Are We Now?," is already being sold in the iTunes Music Store in 119 countries. Bowie's 30th studio recording, dubbed The Next Day, is also available for pre-order on iTunes. Produced by long-time collaborator Tony Visconti, "Where Are We Now?" was written by Bowie and recorded in New York. The single is accompanied by a haunting video directed by Tony Oursler which harks back to the singer's time in Berlin.

I can understand why Slash doesn't wanna do VR.  He has had 2 straight number 1 singles on his own, does great touring and has to answer to no one... why give that up????

Yes, which is why I said "the ship has sailed on this one (a long time ago)." Slash is pretty much set when it comes to his music. There's no one to really hold him back, he's doing his thing and it's going great for him. Why would he want to put up with the VR drama again? Unnecessary.

SLASH ON SCOTT WEILAND: "EVEN IF I DIDN'T HAVE MY SOLO THING GOING ON, I STILL WOULDN'T WORK WITH HIM..."

Slash has blasted Scott Weiland (again) for claiming in various interviews that he was going to be rejoining Velvet Revolver, saying, "None of us have a clue what he's talking about… We're not buying it."

Weiland recently said that he thought it was "the perfect time for Velvet Revolver to get back together," telling Rolling Stone magazine, "I am completely open to it, and I know there are other guys in the band that are completely open to it."

In an interview in the new issue of Classic Rock, Slash was reluctant to address Weiland's recent comments, saying "I don't even want to give him this attention, to tell you the truth."

He added: "I think at this point Scott just got fired from STP and I think he's trying to pull off that trick of trying to get something else going on, and we're not buying it. The door's shut on this side and it's probably shut on that side too, so he's on his own. And he deserves it, too."

He continued: "Scott is completely speaking out of his ass (about the Velvet Revolver reunion). Nobody at this end has had any conversations with Scott on this subject, except maybe Dave Kushner, because he was the only one in the band who was really close to him. And all things considered, we don't have a good professional relationship with Scott. And it also pisses me off because he's put STP through so much shit over the years, and put us through shit too when we were working with him. In 2008, that was all over with, so at this point, when he starts coming up with this stuff, it's like, whatever."

Slash said he is in a good frame of mind these days and he had no intention of bringing a negative influence like Weiland back into his life. "It's been great," he said. "It's basically since I got my shit together and stopped touring with Scott. Even if I didn't have my solo thing going on, I still wouldn't work with him."

On a personal note. I think we all know why Velvet Revolver has yet to find a permanent singer... The ship has sailed on this one (a long time ago).
