cool

There were 78,000 people at Mania III with about 75,000 paid. 93k was a worked number.

I saw the band in '91, '92, '93, 2002 and 2006.

Those were can't-miss shows for me and '91 was the first concert I ever attended.

Now? I just don't have much inclination to see them live, and wouldn't go out my way or out of the city to do so. I think a CD heavy set list will leave most people a bit underwhelmed.

I think it is an interesting piece of the puzzle, and everyone keeps speculating about it, so I provided an answer. I didn't start the thread.

The track list was shifted and revised just prior to release. Truth be told, the album as intended was:

1. Chinese Democracy
2. Riad
3. Shackler's Revenge
4. Stardust
5. If The World
6. Better
7. This I Love
8. There Was A Time
9. The Lies They Tell
10. Sorry
11. I.R.S.
12. Madagascar
13. Prostitute

*Catcher In The Rye was not going to be included.

I'll try to give him a chance despite how thoroughly cheesy he looks.

But, he's really cheesy looking. Way cheesy.

Too much cheese.

Guns 'N Roses album
Axl Rose had purchased three of my paintings late last year, of which two pieces were to be included in a limited edition album release. To my knowledge, it was never widely released, though I received a copy from the band. I was looking at some stats for my website, and noticed a big spike in views and it appears that there is a big discussion among the GNR fans about the unreleased album, and in particular the images. Here is a link to a blog that discusses it, and they even included my painting "Lizard Part of my Brain."

Mystery solved. But the plot thickens...

I just wonder IF this is real, this band can't seem to do anything without the information getting out.  Everything seems to leak from songs, artwork, booklets, guys vying for Robin's spot in the band.  Nothing is sacred.

Information is like water; no matter how many barriers you put up it will always find a way around.

Indeed, Axls tightly controlled way of doing things limits him.

You cannot dictate, only negotiate. That is, they should focus their efforts on open dialog and building relationships that better fit the digital age instead of focusing attention on activities they can't control.

Fake, I say.

Those images are a cobbled together mess with type carelessly throw over them. The lyrics are readily available online; it's not hard to copy and paste over artwork.
Also, they feel strangely outdated...using techniques common to the 80's or early 90's.

In contrast, the official paintings have all been very contemporary – by contemporary artists – with a common theme.

The alternate covers are a rifle and grenade, so I'm guessing someone made this
based on what Axl said in the interview, using the already available hand artwork to auction them for a few $$$. It's no more elaborate than any other bootleg.

Of course, everything about the band is so amateur, I shouldn't be surprised if it's legit.
