If you dont mind me asking, do you work for Sony Computer Entertainment, or just Sony in general?
SEL which is pretty much just the North America branch of Sony Electronics.
Have any need for an American that speaks Japanese?

Other than the Blu-Ray player, I'm not sure why.
Being in the games industry, I'm really curious about what made you go that route.

Ahhh, now that's a good reason! Guess I better be careful what I say.

Didn't have much time to look at this today, but suntorytime's translation is pretty good from what I read.
To clear up/add a few little things...
thanks dreamline *karma*

i'm not shooting the messenger by anymeans here cuz i dont know how japanese translates to english, just adding soem thoughts
No problem. Wish I had more time to do a full translation, but like I said suntorytime's original was pretty accurate (and certainly better than what google spit out )
(about the album being finished)
"Yes, that's true. It was finished quite awhile ago, and at the moment is in the label's hands."definately interesting news....but i tend to side with madagas on this issue...whats to negotiate if the label has it? is it possible that hes giving the old standby comment that gnr has adopted these days? "the negotiations are in the label's hands"
You're probably right about it being the standby comment. Without changing it to natural english, it translates directly to "the situation is that the album has already been given to the label." Take that for what it's worth.
(about the album)
"It's totally different from any other album and totally different from any other band. It's definitely a very different (unprecedented) album, no doubt."i still think hes just saying that it differs from other current material in the publix eye these days
The word that they used in this part of the article was something I'd never heard before. Suntorytime wrote "Very heterogeneous one", but that sure as hell didn't mean anything to me. So after looking it up and having a Japanese friend explain it to me, my understanding is that it means something like outside the norm, new, groundbreaking. Maybe "unprecedented" was a stretch, but with translation from English to Japanese and back to English, this gets a little like the old playground telephone game.
Jeez, what next Axl doing interviews to some magazine in China written in some obscure Chinese dialect?
You guys are own your own translating that one!

Never trust the One-Eyes...
There's a little bit in Neemo's "translation" that didn't make it into the HTGTH transcribe:
Fortus wrote:Moreover, if this album is released, and immediately following the work itself out. The other songs are too well finished and the next film after 10 years I promise you it is not (laughs).
Something to the effect of there's going to be a follow-up album in less than another 10 years, since the songs are already finished.
"After the album is released, we'll be releasing the follow-up soon after. We have more than enough songs completed so I can promise you that it won't be another ten-years before the next release."
I know James is gonna love that "totally different, unprecedented" bit.
#196 Re: The Garden » The Grand Theft Auto IV Thread » 895 weeks ago
A friend of mine picked this up yesterday and we spent a good two hours playing it without actually playing the game - just running around, driving around and fucking shit up. For some good pointless fun, race your car down a highway offramp into some gas station pumps at full speed - death in a spectacular fireball!
As has been pointed out, there is amazing detail in this game. We demoed it for some of the animators here at work and their jaws were dropping. Lots of funny shit in the writing too - not just the main cut-scene dialogue, but also in the ambient voices, radio DJs, etc.
One thing that's ticking me off about this game so far is when it's night. For me, it's absolutely too dark and very hard to see.
You should be able to punch up the brightness and contrast in the settings menu. We had to do that cause the TV here was pretty dark so we were having the same problem.
#197 Re: The Garden » So when will you be getting your rebate? » 895 weeks ago
Goddamnit. Now you guys have me really wanting one of those Yamaha kits!!
Are they way less expensive then the Rolands?
Yeah. The Yamaha kits tend to be cheaper overall. Though after lots of playing in different music stores, I never really liked the feel of the Yamaha kits. The mesh heads on the Rolands have a much nicer drum feel than those rubber pads do, and also give you a lot more control over dynamics, rim shots and stuff. Besides, Neil Peart uses them, so that's enough to convince me.
Here's a little bit of Omar Hakim on the Rolands.
And we've now officially hijacked this thread. I didn't know there were so many drummers here. Maybe we oughtta make a drumming thread.
#198 Re: The Garden » So when will you be getting your rebate? » 895 weeks ago
I apparently can't get the rebate because I'm living outside the States right now. Sucks cause I could always use an extra 600 bucks.
I bought an electronic drumset off musician's friend the other day based on getting this. It doesn't really matter when to me, as long as it comes.
I was one of the people who last I had heard it was June though, so this is good news.
What'd you get, man? I've got a set of Roland V-Drums that I really like (well, I like them as much as I can possibly like a substitute for real accoustic drums, anyway.)

I felt like I was on drugs reading that shit - or maybe I should be on drugs to read it.
Sounds like typical conspiracy nutcase ramblings.
#200 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumor: Axl and Slash at same hotel in NYC? » 896 weeks ago
I don't believe anything on heavymetalbiz. It's Metalsludge x 1000.
That said, if they are at the same hotel together what did they do? Rent a room and "make up?" Crazy.
Never underestimate the healing power of make-up sex!
